October 2021 Paper Pumpkin Peaceful Christmas & Tri-Corner Fun Fold Card Video Tutorial

Hello and welcome to my blog; today!  When you picture a peaceful Christmas, what comes to mind? Do you see snow outside your window, softly swirling through the sky? A tree trimmed with tinsel, a fire crackling nearby? Maybe you’re dreaming of decorating a holly jolly gingerbread house. Can you catch a whiff of Christmas cookies wafting through the air? I am going to share with you the cards that I made yesterday during my Coffee & a Card with Rick.  During this weeks episode I shared how to put together the card card designs in the October Paper Pumpkin titled Peaceful Christmas and shared a fun little fun fold alternative project.

Paper Pumpkin December 2019 Alternative Projects

Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am going to share with you a couple alternative projects for the December Paper Pumpkin kit Something for Everything.  Each month I love to create a few alternative projects to stretch the contents of my Paper Pumpkin kits.  By creating alternative projects you can not only stretch your kits to make more projects and more cards using some additional cardstock and other supplies along with creating sometimes even doubling the contents of the kits.  Here's a look at two alternatives that I came up with so far.

This month I used almost everything from this month's kit to create these two alternatives with the addition of two pieces of cardstock.  I used a piece of Terracotta Tile and Crushed Curry Cardstock to create these two cards.  Since you get two card bases from one sheet of cardstock I could have easily created two cards of the same design.  I used one of the card bases from the December kit on my cards today.  Well, two and a 2 1/4 of the cards in the kit.
For my first alternative card I cut a piece of Crushed Curry Cardstock in half at 4 1/4 x 11".  I then cut the Green striped card base from the kit down.  I started by cutting the front apart and cut the card front down to 2" x 4" and the back green piece of the card base down to 4 1/4 x 2 1/4".  I then layered the two pieces together.  I used the little flower image from this months stamp set all around the bottom of the card base in Crushed Curry Ink.  I stamped in both 1st and 2nd generation stamping.  I wrapped some whisper white baker's twine around my card base and tied a bow.  I then added the crushed curry polka dot hexagon sticker from the kit on to the front of the card base.  I added one of the gold foil stickers to the center of the hexagon, and stamped my sentiment on one of the banners.  I popped the banner up on Stampin' dimensionals.  I finished off this card by adding a Whisper White inside (4 x 5 1/4) and a few of the rhinestones that came in the December Kit.
For my second card I used a Terracotta Tile card base cut at 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and layered the remaining striped card base to the front.  I then took one of the flowery card bases and cut a tag using the tag die from the Bonanza Dies (new in the January - June Mini Catalog).  I added the gold foil swirl onto the tag and then stamped the sentiment onto one of the banners and added it to the card front.  I added some of the flower stickers to the card front along with some of the leaves.  I added a couple of the small flowers to the card front and placed a few rhinestones to the center of them.  I added a 4 x 5 1/4 piece of whisper white to the inside of the card.

A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop: Winter Woods October Kit 2019

Hello and welcome back to my blog today; this is my second post for today, but I am back with you to share my alternative projects for this month's Paper Pumpkin Kit (Winter Woods).  I had so much fun playing with this month's kit.  Here's a look at my Projects.
For my alternative projects this month I created a bag/box with a card and alternative card that's just super simple to do.  So we are going to jump into the card first.  Let's have a closer look at the card shall we.
For my alternative card I used a 4 1/4 x 11 piece of Thick Whisper White Cardstock for my card base.  I simply scored it in half at 5 1/2".   Next, I took the left over part of the tree die cut that came in this month's kit and laid it onto my card base.  I taped it down to my desk and started doing some ink blending.  I started with Balmy Blue ink.  I untaped it and then shifted it over just a little and retaped it back to the desk and did a little more ink blending for a second row of trees with Night of Navy Ink.  I then removed the home made makeshift stencil and took the original die cut piece that came out from the opening and stamped my sentiment at the bottom and added it to the card base to create my third layer of trees.  With the ink blending I also got a second mound of snow in the background.  Bonus!  I finished off the card by adding just a single cardinal die cut to the front.
For my 3d project I created a smaller version of the Bag/box & Card combo that I made last year.  I wanted to create a smaller version of that project and the items in this months Paper Pumpkin Kit was just perfect.  I started out with two pieces of 6 x 6 cardstock and scored each piece on three sides at 1" on my New Stampin' Up! Trimmer.  Once I had all the scoring down I cut up the scorelines for the two smaller squares and notched them in just a little, glued everything up.  Once dried I glued both parts together using a liquid glue (you could use tear & tape but I wanted a little more wiggle room with the glue).
For the card on the front of the box/bag I used a piece of 3 1/2 x 8 Night of Navy cardstock and scored it in half at 4".  I added a piece of whisper white cardstock to the front and inside of the card that measures 3 1/4 x 3 3/4".  I took one of the cards from this month's kit and cut it down to 3 x 3 1/2" for the front of the card.  I added my sentiment to one of the banners from the kit with dimensionals.  I fished it off with one of the cardinals.  I did stamp my sentiment and some of the large snowflakes from this months Paper Pumpkin exclusive stamp set on the piece of whisper white that went on the inside of the card.  Before adding it to the bag/box I took some Poppy Parade texture ribbon wrapped it around the box and tied it into a pretty knot on one side.  I then took the card and added it to the front of the bag/box with a few Stampin' Dimensionals.  The final measurements of the bag/box once complete is 4" w x 5" h x 1" d.

A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop: Bone Appeitit

Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am going to share with you my alternative projects for this months Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop.  I have four alternatives featuring the September Paper Pumpkin Kit Bone Appetit.  This was such a fun kit to work with.  With all it's spooky charm and fun Halloween themed treat boxes and stamp set.  Here's a look at my alternative projects then we will look at them closer in just a few minutes.
The September kit was designed to create 20 treat boxes for Halloween.  And believe me they are the perfect little teat boxes for a spooky night.  I will be making mine up and filling them with a little candy for trick or treaters this year.  Here's a little look at how the kit was intended to be put together.

Alternatives:

The first alternative project I came up with a fun little card using one of the treat boxes as DSP and a little stamping.  I took my inspiration for this card from one of the tags that was designed in the original kit.  I trimmed the box down to 2 x 5 1/2 and then added a piece of Pumpkin pie cardstock as a mat.  I stamped my card base with the little skull and cross bones around the Gorgeous Grape cardbase.  I used elements from the kit to embellish my card.
After creating my first card I started thinking that the box would be the perfect size for our tiny treat boxes.  I figure out that you could cut off the bottom flaps and the top flaps.  You are left with the perfect insert to place inside one of the treat boxes.  I added a little ribbon and a tag to finish off the design.
For my next alternative card I got a little artistic.  I stamped a layer of basic black cardstock with the two skeleton from the stamp set in versamark ink and covered them with white embossing powder.  I wanted to create a card for Dia De Muertos (Day of the Dead) so I stamped a crown of flowers and heat embossed it.  I then used some colored pencils and drew a skeleton face.  Once done I matted both pieces with a piece of whisper white.  The flowers I colored in with my colored pencils.
My last card was inspired by the skeleton background from the card above.  I wanted to do a card doing a little ink blending.  So I heat embossed a panel of whisper white with embossing powder and used only three colors to blend the background. I then added the wicked die cut in black foil paper and heat embossed two sentiments.
Those are my super cute little projects for this month's kit.  If you are viewing this post on my word press site you will need to click here to view the blog roll.

A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop: A Little Smile

Hello and welcome to my blog; today you may have noticed that we are a little later than normal.  That's because I am taking part in this month's A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop.  The blog hop goes live a little later than my normal post.  This month we are showcasing alternative projects for the A Little Smile June 2019 Paper Pumpkin Kit.  This kit was designed to give you small little cards to be used for Random Acts of Kindness (RAK cards).  Here's a look at my alternative projects.
I created a larger card from the smaller cards in the set and a desk organizer/card box to put those cards in along with some stamps and other post it notes.  That way you have everything right at hand to send out your cards.

Video Tutorial:

If you are viewing my post by email you will have to click on the image below to view the video.

Closer Look:

Here's a little closer look at both of my projects.
For my card I used one of the little rak cards to create the focal image for my larger card.  I used a piece of coastal cabana cardstock and created a top folding A2 size card.  I stamped the background using three of the images from this month's stamp set.  I then added accents from this month's kit.  Here's a closer look at this month's stamp set and the supplies that came in the kit.
For my dimensional project I created a little desk/card organizer for A2 size cards.  The desk organizer will hold about five or six cards, as well as some post it notes and stamps, plus you can place your business cards in the front little bin.  I created this from just one sheet of crumb cake cardstock; not bad if you ask me.
Well, that's my projects for this month I hope that you have enjoyed them both.  If you would like to get Paper Pumpkin you can do so by signing up here.  If you are viewing this post on my wordpress blog you will need to click here to view the blog roll.
