Happy Valentine's Day - Awesome Otters Coffee & A Card with Rick Replay ~ Rick Adkins

Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am going to share with you the card that I made and the card that I showcased yesterday day for my Coffee & a Card with Rick video. In this week's video, I shared how to make a Valentine's Day Card. To make the card I used Awesome Otters Stamp Set and the Sweet Converfsatons Stamp Set along with some other fun products. Here's a look at one version of the card.

Mix & Match Your Stamps:

One way to stretch your supplies and to get more out of your stamp sets is to mitch and match them. Pair images from one to sentiments in the other. When you pair other stamps with different sets this allows you to stretch your supplies. This also gives you a lot more versatility with your craft supplies.

Stampin' Blends Tip:

One thing that I have found using Stampin' Blends is that you can create a dark medium and light blend with just the two colors. in the set. When coloring the otter I started by applying the dark color first. Next, I blended the darker color out with the light shade of the blend that I used. Then I came back in with the lighter color one more time after the first layer dried to apply a little darker color. This is possible since alcohol markers are transparent in nature.

For the Highland Heather Card, I used Cinnamon Cider Stampin' Blends Combo Pack to color the otter. On the Real Red Card I created in the video I colored the otter with my Soft Suede Stampin' Blends Combo Pack.

Finishing Touches:

To finish off the card I simply added a few Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels to add a little sparkle and shine to the card.
