Finding Inspiration in the Obvious Under Looked Places:

Above is the image from Stampin' Up! that I CASEd to create my sample from.  I CASEd it exactly as I saw it.  If you are not similar with the term CASE it means Copy and Share Everything or Copy and Selectively Edit.  I choose to Copy it as I saw it in the Sale-A-Bration Brochure.  All of Stampin' Up!'s publications are filled with tons of inspiration that you can pull from.  There's no need to run to the internet to find inspiration.  The catalogs but old and new are always my go to place to find beautiful color combinations and inspiration for projects.

Tips & Tricks:

Now that I gave you my little secret weapon on creating.  Let me share some tips and tricks I learned while creating this project.  First of all I had to stamp the snow banks in the stamp set.  This are not quite large enough to fit on an A2 size card (5 1/2" x 8 1/2" scored at 4 1/4") so I had to line up the stamp at the end and stamp it again.  This is super easy if you have really good light and are standing over the project.  I did this twice for this card.  The back snow bank I cut smaller to fit behind the first. Next I stamped the sliding penguin twice in Tuxedo Black Ink.  One of them I cut off the black of his body to be able to took the twine holding the balloons under his little arm.  By doing this he looks as if he is holding on tightly to them.   I only placed Multipurpose Liquid Glue on this body and left the arm free so that I could move it around.  The balloons are attached him with a Mini Glue Dot carefully placed under his little arm so that it wouldn't show.

Next I stamped his little beak, and foot in Pumpkin Pie Ink.  The foot was punched out using the Penguin Builder Punch.  The hat and beak were cut out with my Paper Snips.  I know some of you don't care for fussy cutting but sometimes you just have to.  I stamped the balloons in Misty Moonlight Ink and cut them out also with my Paper Snips.  Before putting everything on the card I cut my card base from Basic White Thick Cardstock and cut a piece of Penguin Playmates Designer Series Paper to 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" and attached it to the front.  I then layered the snow banks on the front with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  The little penguin and the balloons are popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals.  I attached the white twine from the Baker's Twine Essential Combo Pack to the back of the balloons with Mini Glue Dots before adding the dimensionals.
