In The Pines Seasons Greetings

Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am here to share with you may card for day six of my 15 Days of Christmas, where I am sharing the joy of a Crafty Handmade Christmas.  Each day I have a new project on my blog, a Live video on my Facebook, and a new ordering special each day.

Today is day 6 of my 15 Days of Crafty Handmade Christmas Projects and today's ordering special has been announced. Click here to learn more

Today's project features the In the Pine Bundle.  The In the Pines Bundle includes the In the Pines Stamp Set and the Pine Woods Dies.  I think that the best cards at the Holidays are cards that are quick, easy to reproduce, and are pretty.  I think that this card fits the bill.

Tips & Tricks:

I wanted to have a lot of texture on my card since I was using the In the Pines Bundle.  Pine Trees are very textural and I wanted to extend that that feeling to my card.  So, in order to do just that I picked a piece of the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper to stamp my background of trees on.  I stamped the trees in both Early Espresso and Soft Suede ink on the Wood Textured Designer Series Paper.

I then added the stamped piece of Designer series paper to my Shaded Spruce card base.  Stamping on the designer series paper allows you to not only add more texture to the card but it also allows you to use up some of your designer series paper and adds way more interest to your project as well.

Next I stamped one of the single pine trees in Early Espresso onto Whisper White Cardstock and used the two fillin images to fill in the tree with Shaded Spruce Ink and Soft Suede Ink.  Next I ran the tree image through the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine with the matching Pine Wood Dies.  I added it to the front of my card with a few Stampin' Dimensionals and placed a double bow made from some Linen Trim on the base with a Mini Glue Dot.

After adding the stamped tree and adding a little more color to my project; I needed to stamp my sentiment to the card.  I could have picked any sentiment for the card but I went with Season's Greetings from the stamp set.  I stamped it in Shaded Spruce Ink to bring in the color a third time.  Which by the way goes back to the design rule of three.  Meaning that in a design if you can use an element three times it not only balancings the design but it also if placed right will draw your eye around the project as well.  I then cut the sentiment out with the Tasteful Labels Dies and placed it on the card with a few Stampin' Dimensionals.

Video Tutorial:

After I do my Live on Facebook this afternoon I will come back and add it in here as well.  If you miss my Live make sure to come back and check out the blog post to watch the video replay.

To finish off my card I added a few of the In Good Taste Elements around the sentiment.  Also bringing the natural feel of the other elements that I have used around the card back in again for the third time.  Well, look a there we have the Rule of Three back again.  Visual and tactile texture abounds with the In Good Taste Elements. These natural-colored, pressed wood accents come in shapes that will never go out of style.  Which is another reason I thought they would be the perfect accent for my card today.  Here are a few examples from the Stampin' Up! Catalog that use the In Good Taste Elements and another project that uses the In The Pine Bundle.
