Peaceful Nativity Stampin' Up! - Day 5 of My 15 Days of Christmas

Hello and welcome to my blog; today is day Five of my Fifteen Days of Christmas!  If you are just joining me on my blog each day for 15 days I am sharing a new project, Live Video, and Ordering Special to share the joy of sharing a #craftyhandmadeholiday with others.

For day 5 of my 15 Days of Christmas and sharing a #craftyhandmadechristmas I used the Peaceful Nativity Bundle from Stampin' Up! click to learn more

My card today features the Peaceful Nativity Bundle from Stampin' Up!'s August-December Mini Catalog.

Sponge Away:

To start my card today I did a little ink blending (Night of Navy ands Balmy Blue Inks) at the top of a piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock.  I used my Sponge Brayers to do the ink blending.   This is a super easy way to do some quick ink blending.  When using the Sponge Brayers you do have to watch the amount of pressure that you are putting on the brayer as you roll across the paper.  So, you really want to watch that.

Next, I took the ink blended panel and ran it through my Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine with the Tasteful Textiles 3D Embossing Folder.  I wanted the simple background to have a lot of texture and interest and not just be a flat piece of cardstock with a little ink blending.  This added to the feel of the card and gave it a lot more interest!

After I had my ink blending and embossing done I stamped the nativity images from the Peaceful Nativity Stamp Set onto some Very Vanilla Cardstock using Tuxedo Black Ink.   I knew I wanted to do a little Stampin' Blends coloring on the stamped images of the nativity.

The Peaceful Nativity Bundle includes the Peaceful Nativity Stamp Set and the Nativity Dies; when you purchase the bundle you save 10% from buying the stamp set and dies separately.  So, it's always good to purchase the bundle and save a little.   The Peaceful Nativity Stamp Set allows you to share the peace of the season with cards you make.

Video Tutorial:

I love the dies because they allow me to die cut the Holy Family, stable, stars, and animals, then ad them to my cards or scrapbook pages to commemorate the season.  I actually die cut both pieces of the manger from a piece of the Poinsettia Place Designer Series Paper.  The front of the manger I stamped using Tuxedo Black Ink Right on the DSP and colored it with my Stampin' Blends before cutting it out.  Everything else was a matter of layering the card all together.

To finish off my card I added a Silver Foil star (die came from the Nativity Dies) and placed it over the manger with a Mini Stampin' Dimensional.  I then added a few Rhinestone Basic Jewels sprinkled around the card to add a little shine and sparkle but to also represent stars in the sky.  You can earn a pack of the Rhinestone Basic Jewels today for free with a minimum $50 order in my online store using the host code below.
