Celebrate Sunflowers - Let's Celebrate You Video Tutorial

Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am going to share a couple cards that I made a few weeks ago using the Celebrate Sunflowers Stamp Set and matching dies.  I also shared on the video tutorial a few more tips on using your Stampin' Blends to their fullest.  Here is a look at both cards that I made using this bundle.

Tips & Tricks:

The Celebrate Sunflowers Bundle includes the Celebrate Sunflowers Stamp Set and the Sunflowers Dies.  Create realistic sunflower images you stamp with the Celebrate Sunflowers Stamp Set, then cut them out using the Sunflowers Dies.  The Celebrate Sunflower stamp set features the wonderful script font and the great line art images of the sunflowers and leaves that allow you to use your favorite coloring media.  Did you know that you could get this bundle FREE until June 30, 2020 when you joined my team?  Yes, you can add the Celebrate Sunflower Bundle to your starter kit this month for FREE.  I will tell you more on that a little later in this post.

I stamped my sunflowers with Tuxedo Black ink on Thick Whisper White Cardstock and then colored them using my Stampin' Blends.  When I use my Stampin' Blends I usually always stamp my images on the Thick Whisper White Cardstock because the thicker paper allows for more ink to be applied to the paper which allows more pigment to be put down.  This in turns allows for a much brighter result with the coloring.

The first card I made using the Celebrate Sunflowers Bundle; I used a Cinnamon Cider card base.  And added the Sunflower pattern paper from the Forevery Season Designer Series Paper Pack.  I used the reverse side of the same piece of paper for the Misty Moonlight polka-dot pattern.  This pack of designer series paper not only has flowers for every season in the designs but it also features the new 2020-2022 Stampin' Up! In Colors (Cinnamon Cider, Just Jade, Bumblebee, Magenta Madness, Misty Moonlight) and has a little Whisper White and Poppy Parade in it as well.  I used the Sunflower dies to cut out each sunflower before adding them to my card.  I also cut out the sentiment using the Tasteful Label Dies.  I added a little of the Just Jade Gingham Ribbon from the Flowers for Every Season Ribbon Combo pack on the front to add a little country feel.

I recreated the card for my video tutorial but decided to change up the color scheme and use only one sunflower.  I wanted to see just how much doing a few little changes would or would not change the feeling of the card.  So I used Magenta Madness as my card base along with a little So Saffron Cardstock.  I colored the sunflower this time using just So Saffron Stampin' Blends and colored the center in Soft Suede.  I didn't do as much layering of the color this time.  And this was the result.

I also picked a different pattern from the Flowers for Every Season Designer Series Paper Pack and added the layers onto So Saffron Cardstock mats.  I stamped the sunflower with tuxedo black ink still so that I could color it with my Stampin' blends.  I added the label and die cut sunflower the same way with a few Stampin' Dimensionals to give both a little lift.  Instead of the Gingham ribbon this time I added a little Magenta Madness Ribbon instead.

Many Mates and Flowers for Every Season Shirt and Tie Card for The Spot Challenge #113

Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am going to share with you my card for this week’s challenge over at The Spot.  The challenge is all about Masculine themed projects.  I created a fun little card that is perfect for Father's Day, that special man in your life’s birthday, or for an anniversary.  Or just because you want to give him a fun card.  So, knowing this I wanted to create a fun and special card for this week’s challenge.  So, I created a Shirt & Tie Card using new products from the 2020-2021 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog.  Here is a look at my card.

I mean really what is more perfect than a shirt and tie for a card for a masculine event or holiday.  Did you know that last year there was about $12-16 Billion dollars spent on Father’s Day gifts last year and a large portion of that were on ties and dress shirts?  So, when not make a fun necktie and dress shirt card to give as well.  It really is not as hard as you may think.  On my card today I used a piece of Whisper White Cardstock cut at 4 x 5 ¼.  At the top of my Whisper White piece I scored it at 5/8” and then lined it up in my trimmer and cut in along the 5/8” score line one inch on both sides.  Next I lined it up on my grid paper at 0 (with 2” on both sides of the line) and folded in the cut lines to the center.  This is how I made the collar of my shirt.

To make the necktie I used a 4 x 4 score of the For Every Seasons Designer Series Paper.  I folded this in half from corner to corner to make a seam in the middle of the tie.  Then opened it back up and folded in the outside edges to the center line.  Then with a little more folding I created the floral tie that you see here.  I like pretty much any tie and I thought that this pack of paper would make some great ones.  I picked the one with the Misty Moonlight flowers since I planned on using Misty Moonlight Cardstock for my card base.

I attached my tie to my shirt with a few Mini Glue Dots on the back side.  To secure the collar in place I used two Stampin’ Dimensionals on both sides stacked on top of each other.  The two stacked were the perfect height to make the collar stand up and fit the top of the tie under.
I stamped the sentiment from Many Mates on the right-hand side of the shirt where the pocket would be in Misty Moonlight Classic Ink.  I know you are wondering how I stamped in Misty Moonlight since it is not out yet.  Well, we got a Misty Moonlight Stampin’ Spot in the May Paper Pumpkin Kit, otherwise I could not have.

To finish off my card I used a couple of the 2020-2022 In Color Enamel Dots as buttons on the collar.  I then attached the shirt onto my 4 ¼ x 11 Misty Moonlight Card base.  I added another piece of Whisper White cardstock to the inside of my card for a personal message.  Now my card is ready to go.  Thanks for dropping by today.  All the new products you have seen today will be available starting on Wednesday this week.  You will find a full list of all the supplies that I used on my card today in the Shopping List below.  Here is a look at the inspiration image from this week’s challenge.  We would love for you to play along with us over at the Spot this week.  You can click on the image below to see what the other design team members came up with.

My Meadow Happy Birthday Card

Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am sharing with you a card I made this week using the My Meadow Stamp Set.  I can not believe that I've not played with this stamp set since I got it back in November at Centerstage.  I think I was a little intimidated by it.  I thought it would be a little harder to create with than it really was.  But it was quite easy.  Here's a look at today's card.

All I used for this card was the stamp set, a little ink, and a little cardstock.  I know right!  Can you believe that this was created with just stamps ink and paper.  I started out by stamping the gazebo in Soft Suede Classic Ink where I wanted it to be.  Then I added the ground in Pear Pizzazz Classic Ink.  I stamped it a couple times and decided where it overlapped looked likes little hills.

Next I stamped the set of tree trunks in the background first.  Then I stamped the larger tree trunk in the stamp set in the foreground.  All the tree trucks were all stamped in Soft Suede Classic Ink.  I then added the leaves with a combination of first and second generation stamping in Garden Green Classic Ink on to of the trunks.  I then stamped the water with Coastal Cabana Classic Ink in the foreground.  I justed used one stamp to create the water.  I just flipped it around to fit into the each area.

To finish off the card I added the stamped background to a Pear Pizzazz mat and stamped the sentiment onto a Pear Pizzazz piece and made a fishtail banner.  I popped the sentiment up on Stampin' Dimensionals.  I added the completed matted card front to a Garden Green card base.  And that finished the card.  Thanks for dropping by today if you need any of the supplies you have seen today you can pick them up in my online store by clicking on the items in the shopping list below.

May Paper Pumpkin A Kit In Color

Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am going to share with you the cards that I made using the May 2020 Paper Pumpkin Kit - A Kit In Color.  This was a super fun kit and was a first for Stampin' Up! and Paper Pumpkin they featured four of the new 2020-2022 In Colors and one of the 2019-2021 In Colors in this month's kit.  Paper Pumpkin is a crafting subscription kit that's mailed to your home each month you are a subscriber.  Each month there's a different set of predesigned projects and supplies in the kit.  This month we made 12 cards (4 each of 3 designs).  Here's a look at the cards that I made following the kit instructions.

This month's kit was very bright and cheerful, with the rainbow themed designs and fun new colors.  The colors featured in the kit were Just Jade, Magenta Madness, Misty Moonlight, Bumblebee, and Purple Posy.  So I set down with my little box of goodies and started putting my card together.  Each month besides the precut supplies to make the projects you also get an exclusive stamp set and at least one ink spot in one of the Stampin' Up! colors.  This month we got Misty Moonlight as our ink spot color.

Once I got everything out of the box I seperated everything into what went with each card design.  Once I did that I could start making all of the same card designs at ounce and batched the work.  I did all the stamping for the Just Jade card.  Then I put all the rainbows on.  And went step by step on everything for that card.

One of the great things about working in this way is you can get one set done before moving on to the next ones and you don't get confused on what goes on the card when you come back to it.  Plus it makes the work flow even faster with the step by step directions in the kit.  Next I moved onto the stripped rainbow card.  And repeated the process.

After I finished all the striped cards I moved on to the purple posy card and just repeated the same work flow.  I did all my stamping, attached all the vellum pieces after folding over the card base.  Then I added the card front, then added the sentiment, tied all the bows and added them.

After I finished I had 12 beautiful cards that I could send out to my customers, friends, family or anyone that needed a pick me up.  They even came with matching envelopes so that makes it even better.  Here's another look at the cards.

Another great thing about Paper Pumpkin is they are always different each month so I have new crafting supplies sent to my door and I don't have to go to the store.  Unless, I want to, but as a demonstrator I don't have to go to the store anyway I just order from my online store and have it shipped directly to my home.  The June kit is all about Sharing Sunshine and will come is a bright yellow box.  The goal of this kit is to after you use the supplies on the inside you fill the box back up with a little sunshine (yellow goodies) and send it or deliver it to a friend.

The June Kit is a one-of-a-kind kit, inspired by Sara and her #sharesunshine passion.  So it will be a fun kit and supplies inside.  This kit includes extra pieces and stickers (including a sticker label) to help you create cards AND a Box of Sunshine filled with treats and goodies to send to a friend. (Treats not included.)  Subscribe for the June kit from 11 May–10 June or while supplies last.  Last month's kit sold out in record time.  Click here to subscribe.

Thanks for dropping by today I hope that you have a wonderful day.  If you would like to subscribe to Paper Pumpkin with me I would love that.  I send all my subscribers an exclusive PDF tutorial filled with alternative projects each month using that month's kit as a perk for being one of my Pumpkin Patch members.  Remember you can subscribe by clicking here.
