Season of Thanks & Last Day to Signup for my Paper Shares

Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am going to share with you today is the last day to sign up and pay for my Holiday Product Shares.  You can do so by clicking here to register!  The Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog goes live tomorrow are you excited to be able to order all the new holiday goodies?  Over the weekend I did a Holiday Catalog Launch Party to celebrate the catalog going live soon and talked about some of my favorite things during each presentation.  Today's card is one of the samples that I shared during the Live Presentation on Facebook.  I created this Season of Thanks card as one the samples for the Come To Gather Suite in the catalog.  This Suite is our Fall themed suite this year and has some amazing color combinations and some fabulous products in it.  Here's a look at my card.
I used products from both catalogs to create my card; I used the Gather Together Stamp Set (150589).  Which is a photopolymer set and you can get alone or as part of the Gather Together Cost Savings Bundle (153036).  Anytime you order one of the bundles from Stampin' Up! you're saving 10% off the price of the products.  I started out by picking which piece of designer series paper I wanted to use and from that is where I picked my colors.  I picked to use Pretty Peacock as the main color of my card and picked Crushed Curry as the supporting color. Even with it not being in this piece of designer series paper it works so well with the colors.  One of my inspirations for this color combinations also came from the August Paper Pumpkin kit.  That kit contained fall themed projects and had these two colors in them.
Once I had the designer series paper picked and the colors it was time to start building the card.  I picked Crushed Curry as my card base.  I know some of you out there are not a fan of Crushed Curry, but it's an absolute show stopper of a color when paired with Pretty Peacock.  The rich golden hue becomes even more striking when you put it up against the dark lush teal of the Pretty Peacock.  I mean really if you think about it they probably play so well together because you can find a color similar to Crushed Curry in an actual peacock feather.

So once the card base was created it was time to dress it up.  I cut my designer series paper in half and then used a scrap of Pretty Peacock cut to the same size and ran it through my die cutting/embossing machine with the Hammered Metal 3D Embossing Folder (150646) also in the Holiday Catalog.  This folder adds so much texture to your projects that it's amazing.  I have a video coming out later on where I played with it and the new Delciata inks and the look was a show stopper.  I can't wait to share that with you.
I added both those cut pieces to a Pretty Peacock mat.  To cover the seam I used the Crushed Curry 3/8" Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon (149444) from the Annual Catalog.  I wrapped it around the mat and secured it on the back and then tied a nice pretty bow on the front.  It was then time to add my sentiment and focal image, as if I needed anything else to draw attention to this card.  But, it did need a sentiment so I stamped my greeting and one of the pumpkins from the stamp set in Pretty Peacock Classic ink (#150083) on a large stitched oval and added it with a few Stampin' Dimensionals (104430).  And, that finished off my card.  I've gotten where I don't like to have a lot of embellishments on my cards, I really want the focal images and colors to stand out.  Now, don't get me wrong I will add one if I think it needs it, but with this card I wanted all the textures from the crinkled ribbon, embossed cardstock, stitched oval and the texture in the designer series paper to really stand out.  I think that by adding all these different textural elements has created a beautifully textured card.
As I mentioned before all the products in this suite will be available when the catalog goes live tomorrow.  Here's a little video from my Catalog launch for you to view if you missed it on Saturday.  I also will be doing a virtual walk through of the catalog tomorrow night during my Facebook Live at 8 pm CST and I will share with you my top 10 horde worthy picks from it.

Have a Spooktacular Halloween!

Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am going to share with you a Spooktacular Halloween Card.  I used products from the Monster Bash Suite in the 2019 Holiday Catalog which goes live on September 4th.  I picked this suite of products to create my card because it's just so darn cute and fun to color.  And, the Spooktacular Bash Bundle comes with the Spooktacular Bash Stamp Set and the Ornate Frames Dies.  These super cute dies can be used for so many more things than just matching this stamp set.  Here's a look at my spooky little card.

Halloween will be here before you know it and little ghouls will be inviting you to all types of Spooktacular Bashes, and you will be ready to create not so spooky projects with these sweet monsters and sweet sentiments in the cute Spooktacular Bash Stamp Set.   When paired with the other products in the suite you will sink your teeth into creating.
You can see with the Monster Bash Designer Series Paper has a fresh spin on classic Halloween images.  I used a piece here to add a little more of a spooky touch.  I used another little strip right above the Basic Black scalloped ribbon.  To add just a little more spookiness to the card I added one of the Monster Bash Enamel Shapes to the sentiment.  I added it with the adhesive on the back plus one of the mini black stampin' dimensionals.  I also added some of the regular size black dimensional under the vampire.  Now you have seen me mention Black Stampin' Dimensionals a couple times now, yes they are a real thing that will be available in the Holiday Catalog.  These little cushions of goodness will be perfect for all your Halloween projects.
Thanks for dropping by today I hope that you have enjoyed my little sneak peek of the new Monster Bash Suite.  I have a little tutorial that I have created for you featuring this card you can click here to download the PDF.

We'll Walrus Be Friends CASE the Catalog

Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am going to share with you a card that I CASEd from the 2019 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog.  CASE means Copy and Share Everything or Copy and Selectively Edit.  Casing a design is a great way to learn new techniques, and skills as well.  Casing is also a great way to improve skills.  The card that I cased came from page 83.  Here's a look at my card.

This is the image I CASEd and was inspired by.

My Version:

I tried to make my version of this card as close as I could.  I started out with a Smoky Slate card base.  The card base in the picture above is a side folding card 5 1/2 x 8 1/2.  I created mine as a top folding card 4 1/4 x 11 scored at 5 1/2.
I then took a piece of Pool Party cut at 4 x 5 1/4 and used the High Seas 3D embossing folder and attached it to the card front.  I then used a piece of the Fluid 100 Watercolor paper and the Stitched Rectangle dies to cut out the image that will be placed on front.  I stamped all the images in Stazon Jet Black ink and let it dry.  Once it was dry I could watercolor the images.  I used a aqua painter and water colored the images using Smoky Slate, Balmy blue, Pool Party, Blueberry Bushel, Pumpkin Pie and Poppy Parade.  I just squeezed my ink pads to put ink in the top to use as a pallet.  Once I had everything colored and it had died I wrapped the Poppy Parade twine around and secured to the card front using dimensionals.  I then took about four inches or so of extra twine and tied a knot around the one that I wrapped I let a few inches hang down.  I added a knot on the other end and pulled the twine apart so it was just the threads hanging.

I added a little of the stripped Washi tape from the Follow your art washi tape collection.  I stamped the sentiment in Basic Gray ink and created a little banner and added it to the card front with dimensionals.  I then added a piece of whisper white to the inside.

Thanks for dropping by today, I hope that you have a wonderful day.  You can find a full list of all the supplies used in the Shopping List below.
