Rick's Saturday Simple Stamping Episode 17: Lasting Lilly Sympathy Card

Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am going to share with you my card for this weeks Simple Saturday Stamping.  Today, I am going to show you how to create a quick and easy Sympathy card.  I know that this is not the reason we want to make cards but sometimes we have to have them on hand to send out.  And, wouldn't it make a person feel a little better when they get a handmade card from you.  Here's a look at my card.

This is really not a hard card to create like the rest of our simple stamping cards, they are designed to teach card making to someone just getting started, or who has been thinking about getting started in this fun creative craft that will change your life.  Most of these simple stamped cards only use stamps ink and paper.  I try to share with you easy designs that you can totally recreate without a problem.  Check out the how to video tutorial here for today's card.

I think that this is a nice card that would make the person that got it smile on such a bad occasion.  I like the Lasting Lilly stamp set for Sympathy cards.  It has the perfect sentiments for these types of situations.  The Lasting Lilly set can only be earned for FREE during Saleabration.  And, there is only nine more days left of Saleabration.  Lasting Lily is a second level Saleabration item which means to earn it for free you have to spend a $100 in my online store before shipping and taxes.  Which we all know isn't really that hard to do some days.

My card base is a piece of Flirty Flamingo cut at 4 1/4 x 11 scored at 5 1/2, and a piece of Petal Pink 4 x 5 1/4 .  My stamped layer is 3 3/4 x 5.  You will find a full list below in the shopping list.  For the inside I just added a piece of whisper white and stamped the lily a couple times.
Thanks for dropping by I hope that you have enjoyed this weeks Simple Saturday Card.  You can order all the supplies in my online store 24/7.

Lasting Lily Tufted Card

Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am going to share with you this super cute simple card with just a little bling.  I cased this card using the Lasting Lily Stamp Set that's a Saleabration 2nd level reward.  Speaking of Saleabration there are still 11 days left to take advantage of the Biggest Promotion Stampin' Up! offers each year.

If you are ever looking for inspiration you should look no further then your own catalog and Saleabration brochure.  I actually CASEd this card from the Saleabration Brochure.  If you are wondering what I meant by CASE it means Copy and Share Everything or Copy And Selectively Edit.  You're catalog and brochures are not only places to get products but card ideas, layouts, and great design elements as well.

This is the card I used for inspiration for my card today.  I didn't change a lot of what Stampin' Up! designed.  I did change the embossing folder from the lace dynamic textured impression embossing folder that they used to the Tufted Dynamic Textured Impression Embossing Folder.  Everything else I pretty much kept the same.
For my version of their card I used a piece of 4 x 5 1/4 Old Olive cardstock for my embossed piece.  Then I added that to a piece of 4 1/4 x 11 Old Olive that was scored at 5 1/2.  Then I added the piece of whisper white with the stamping.  The Lasting Lily stamp set is just a wonderful all around stamp with Distinktive images and loving thoughts.  This set will help you with the moments you can't always put into words.  The Lasting Lily set will allow you to craft the perfect message of comfort and peace.
I really wanted to share with you that you can find inspiration from places right at your fingertips.  Sometimes you don't have to look any further then your front door.  Thanks for dropping by today.  Remember you can earn the Lasting Lily Stamp Set free with a $100 order in my online store.  You will find a list of the supplies I used on my card below.

Lasting Lily Sympathy Card (Facebook Live Replay 3/6/19)

Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am going to share the card that I made during my Facebook Live on Wednesday night.  I shared that night how to create a beautifully blended background; using the soon to be out going In Colors.  Along with the 2017-2019 In Colors I used the Lasting Lily Saleabration Stamp Set and the Lily Framelits that can be purchased as part of the Saleabration Celebration Products.  I actually used all of the 2017-2019 In Colors for my card that night.  Here's a look at my card.

Tips & Tricks:

I started out by stamping everything with my Stamparatus first.  Once I had everything stamped I then ran it through the Big Shot with the Lily Framelits; which is part of the Saleabration Coordination products that can be purchased to help you get to the second level of Saleabration Rewards to earn the Lasting Lily Stamp Set.

I then used my Make up brushes (which sounds totally strange to say) to do ink blending on the background piece.  My colors for the first card was Pineapple Punch, Poppy Parade and Rich Razzleberry.   The ink colors that I used for the ink blending and lilies on the card that I did during the Facebook Live are as followed.  Powder Pink, Berry Burst, and Fresh Fig.  The leaves and stems were stamped with Lemon Lime Twist and Tranquil Tide.  I used a sponge dauber to add the darker color to the lighter to give a shadow and a two tone effect to them.

The makeup brushes that I have started using for ink blending have been linked below in the shopping list.

Saying Good Bye is Hard:

Sadly the 2017-2019 In colors will be leaving us when the new catalog comes out in June.  So we will be saying good bye to some of my favorite colors ever.  Is that's right Lemon Lime Twist, Powder Pink, Berry Burst, Tranquil Tide, and Fresh Fig will be retiring come June.  But, I am going to go ahead and tell you that as soon as the retiring list is announced in a month or so they will sell out very fast.  It has always happened with the colors that everyone loves.   So if you have these colors and want to keep using them I suggest you order them and the ink refills now.  Some of them are already on back order but will be back in stock soon.  It's better to go ahead and order them now and that way you have them for future products.  I am about to place a order for my own ink refills for these colors because I love them so.

But the good news is I am sure we will have five new colors for the next two years that are as equally pretty and fun to play with.

Thanks for dropping bye I hope that you have enjoyed my two versions of the card that I created for this weeks Facebook Live.  You can find all the supplies I used to create both versions of this card below in both the Stampin' Up! Shopping list and the Additional Supply Shopping List.
