Sending Healing Thoughts - Nature's Harvest Bundle Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog! Well Crafty Peeps, I have been working on this post for two days now.  I couldn't get a picture to upload to Photoshop Sunday night to edit them to get this post ready for yesterdays deadline.  So, I spent all day yesterday moving files from my laptop to my external hard drive.  Which by the way freed up the much needed space so that my laptop would work properly.

Now, since I have this thing working correctly I can share my project with you.  So, lets get into today's project.  I used the Harvest Meadow Suite to create a beautiful sympathy or get well card to share with you today.  Which the sentiment I picked from the stamp set I think it could go either way.  But, let me know in the comments if you think it can or not.

A Few Coloring Tips:

I started out my card by stamping the largest flower image from the Nature's Harvest Stamp Set in Tuxedo Black Ink onto a scrap of Basic White Cardstock.  Depending on how you color them they could be Black-Eyed Susan or Coneflowers.  I am actually not sure what they are but I did ask Charles about it and he looked them up and they are both very similar.  So, I think you could make them either or based on the coloring.  Besides whatever they are they are pretty.

I used my Stampin' Blends to color them in Misty Moonlight, Calypso Coral, and Crumb Cake.  If you notice in the petals of the flowers I got a three color blend with only the two Calypso Coral Blends.  I accomplished this by loading the petals with the Light Calypso Coral Stampin' Blend first.  After the ink dried I came back in and added the shadows in the areas I wanted the shadows to be on each petal.  Next I took and added a little more Light Calypso Coral to try and blend the petals but I didn't get the results I wanted.  (TIP) So, I took my Calypso Coral Dark Stampin' Blend and scribbled it on a Clear Block.  I then took my Light Calypso Coral Stampin' Blend and picked up some of the dark ink off the block.  This created a medium Calypso Coral shade that blended perfectly into the other two colors.  I blended this new medium shade out with my Calypso Coral Light Stampin' Blend to finish each petal and create the three color blend.

Change Your Die Cuts:

Next I cut out the flower with the matching Harvest Dies and set them aside to assemble the card.  I cut a piece of Basic White Thick Cardstock to 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" and scored it at 4 1/4" to make a top folding A2 size card base.  I then layered a piece of the Harvest Meadows Designer Series Paper (3 3/4" x 5") onto a Misty Moonlight Cardstock mat layer (4" x 5 1/4") and adhered this to my card base.

I then took a piece of Misty Moonlight Cardstock and cut it out using the Ornate Layers Dies.  I used the next to largest die and ran it through my Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine a couple times to make sure the intricate die cut out everything.  I then decided that I wanted to add a little of the 3/8" Diamond Weave Ribbon; so, I took my Label Me Fancy Punch and punched out two ribbon slits on the left and right sides.  Well of course this also punched off some of the beautiful intricate details from the boarders. (Tip) So, I took my Paper Snips and simply cut off the rest of it making sure to go around the edge of the flower on each corner to create a new style die cut.   Problem solved and I got a beautiful little detail as well.

To finish off the card I added the New Ornate Layers Die Cut to the front of the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.  Stamped my sentiment in Versamark and covered it with White Stampin' Emboss Powder from the Basic Embossing Powders and then die cut it with the label die from the Harvest Dies before placing it on my card with a few Stampin' Dimensionals.  I then finished off by adding a few Basic Rhinestone Jewels sprinkled around the card and stamping the smaller flower from the stamp set on the inside of the card.
