Happy Birthday Pinwheel Towel Card

Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am going to share with you a fun fold card that looks complicated but is actually super easy to do.  I was super impressed and surprised just how easy it was. I am talking about the Pinwheel Tower Card.  Here's a look at this fun fold card.

Looking at the image above you would not think that this fun little card would make what I am about to show you.  This is one of the great benefits of this card is that it will fold flat and you can put it in an envelope and mail it.  But when the person gets the card and pull it out the card opens up like this.

You can see how this fun fold cards gets it's name.  You can make them in all different sizes.  my card when folded up measures 5 1/2" x 6". When unfolded it's 5 1/2" tall.  I used a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" piece of cardstock to make the base scored at 1", 2", 3", 4", 5", and 6".   Each panel measures 2 1/2" x 5 1/2".

If you you look down from the top of the card you can really see the pinwheel effect that the card makes.  You can really decorate these types of cards how ever you would like.  The place for the sentiment on the front of the card actually swings up to the back and has a place for a personal message to be written on that panel.

I added some decoration to the front of the card by using the Brilliant Wings Dies to die cut a few butterflies from a little Gold Foil Sheet.

  1. I am in the process of trying out your pinwheel card. Where is it glued together? Is there one panel larger than the rest? Does it fit into an A2 envelope?

    1. It does not fit into a A2 envelope if you go back up in the blog post it tells you the finished size when folded up. Each panel is glued to one of the scores sections.
