Forever Blossoms Simple Wedding Card & This Weeks Color Inspiration

Hello and welcome to my blog; today I have a super cute and easy wedding card to share and a little Color Inspiration for you this week.  I wanted to create a super quick, easy, and colorful wedding card to share with you today so I pulled out the Forever Blossoms Stamp Set from the 2021 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog.    Here's a look at todays card.

Coloring Tips & Tricks:

It is no secret that I love to color with my Stampin' Blends.  Anytime that I get a chance to make a super cute care and I get to use my Stampin' Blends I am all up on it.  For todays card I pulled out the Forever Blossoms Stamp Set because I wanted to create a wedding card and I wanted to do a little coloring as well.  So, I started out by stamping the cherry blossom branch from the stamp set around the card in different areas.  I used Smoky Slate Ink to stamp the images with.  The Stampin' Blends are alcohol based so you can use the dye inks (which are water based inks to stamp with).  The main thing to remember to get a good result is the cardstock you use.

Normally I color on the Thick Basic White Cardstock but today I used just the plain old regular Basic White.  The trick with the Thick Basic White Cardstock is that you have to give the ink a little more time to soak in before you charge in and try to blend out the darker layer.  It also helps sometimes to prime the cardstock with the lighter color first then to come back in and add the darker color then blend it out with the lighter.  You have to think of the cardstock that you are using and how it is effected by the alcohol ink from the blends.  I have found that by priming the cardstock with the lighter color I usually don't have a bleeding problem.

Sometimes when I just want to do some quick coloring with my blends (like on todays card) I simply follow the shaded lines that are on the stamp set and add the darker color to that area and blend it out with the lighter color.  Which is what I did on the flowers and leaves.  With the leaves I just did a little bit of blending because I wanted to leaves to really stand out on the card.  Just a remember that you don't have to always color leaves green there are a ton of different plants out there with different color leaves.  So be bold in your colors and pick something that compliments your project.

Color Inspiration:

For my color inspiration this week I made a little pinable graphic to share with you (incase you wanted to pin it to a color board on your Pinterest boards) that shows all the colors that I used on this card.  I picked these colors because they all work nicely with the Polished Pink.  By the way Polished Pink is one of the 2021-2023 In Colors, it's not as bright as Magenta Madness that is one of last years in colors.

Finishing Touches:

To finish off my card today once all the coloring was completed; I ran the front panel through my Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine along with the largest die in the Stitched With Whimsy Dies.  I picked this die because I didn't want the front panel any smaller but I wanted some stitched detail to the card front.  So, since all the Stitched with Whimsy Dies do is cut the stitching this set of dies was the right way to go.  I than added that panel to my card base which was made from some Polished Pink Cardstock.

To add a little more color to the card I added two strips of designer series paper both of which came from the Brights 6" x 6" Paper Pack.  I used a strip of Daffodil Delight and Bermuda Bay on todays project.  I then added my sentiment onto a die cut circle that in Polished Pink Ink and added it along with a small cherry bloom to the front of the card.  Inside the center of the bloom I added a Rhinestone Basic Jewel to add a little sparkle to the card.

Thanks for dropping by today, I hope that you have a wonderful day I hope that you give this fun unexpected color combination a try this week.  If you need any of the supplies that you have seen today you can pick them up in my online store.
