Time for Tags Baby Card

Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am going to share with you a super cute baby card using one of the host/hostess sets in the 2019 Annual Catalog.  Baby cards are always something you will need.  Plus it never hurts to have a few on hand because you never know when you will get a shower invitation, or find out that someone you know will be having a baby.  I like to design them (unless I a certain person in mind and I know what the gender is) where they can be used for either gender, this makes it easier to have them on hand when you need them.  Plus with the Time of Tags stamp set you can do some super cute ones and do a little coloring also.  Here's a look at my card today.

 Tips & Tricks:

One of the big things is to have a gender neutral color scheme.  Here I went with Mint Macaron, Soft Suede, Soft Sea Foam, Daffodil Delight, and Whisper White.  I threw in the Daffodil Delight because I wanted there to be a little more pop of color with the little giraffe toy since its such a small image surrounded by all the Mint Macaron.  It needed to stamp out even being so small and by adding in the Daffodil Delight it does just that.
You can see in the Color Combo image and in the card how they all work nicely together.  Sometimes you may not think about adding some colors together but in reality they work really nicely and you don't think about them, but it's the unexpected that makes you look twice at a project.  Don't be afraid to throw in a color you like but aren't sure of, it just may be what you need to make your card pop.
For the background I didn't want just a plain Mint Macaron card base I needed something to help draw attention, but ground the card as well.  The Buffalo Check Background stamp was just the ticket.  I already knew I wanted to use some of the Mint Macaron Gingham from the Subtles 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper, but needed something that wouldn't really compete with it but would help compliment it.  I love mixing patterns sometimes and mixing the large and small gingham pattern was the perfect combination, neither would over power the other.
Since this was a baby card I added the 1/4" Textile Mint Macaron Ribbon to add just a little more softness, texture, and to draw your attention to the little tag as well.  By using a ribbon in the same color as the card base I achieved just that.  By using the ribbon as an embellishment it helped to draw your attention down to the smaller element without overpowering the rest of the card as if I had added some rhinestones, sequins, or pearls.  This option kept the emphasis on the little tag instead of the larger card itself.   I punched the tag out using the Timeless Label Punch which by the way was intentional on Stampin' Up!'s part when they designed this stamp set.  Coordination is one of the key reasons I love this company.  There's not many companies that design for multiple products to work together so effortlessly to make your card making and paper crafting this super easy to create without a ton of hunting or guess work involved.

Thanks for dropping by today, I hope that you have enjoyed my project for you today.  If you would like to recreate this card you will find a list of all the supplies below in the shopping list.  The Time for Tags Stamp Set as I mentioned earlier is a Host/Hostess set and can only be earned with a qualifying order using your Stampin' Rewards.  If you are one of those people that never place a large enough order to hit the Stampin' Rewards or you just haven't gotten this set yet.  I have a special deal for you this week.  For everyone that places a $100 (before shipping and taxes) order using my host code this week (until Midnight July 23, 2019) You can pick any hostess stamp set for free with me.  All you have to do after placing your order is email me which hostess set you want.  And I will order it for you when I close out the host code at the end of next week.  So if you would like to have this stamp set you can pick it as your free offer with a qualifying order.  I hope that you have a wonderful day and I will see you tomorrow with Episode 27 of Saturday Simple Stamping.
