Rainbow Background Ornate Garden Thanks Card

Hello and welcome to my blog; today I have a fun rainbow background card for you.  I did a little heat embossing for a rainbow embossed resist background along with a little Stampin' Blend coloring.  But, the blend coloring wasn't with color I created a black and white image for the focal point of my card.  I wanted it to pop against the rainbow background.  Here's a look at today's card.

Tips & Tricks:

I started out by taking a 4 x 5 1/4 piece of Whisper White Thick Cardstock and covered it with my Embossing Buddy (which is a anti static powder tool).  Next I stamped the All Wired Up Background Stamp in Versamark ink using the Stamparatus.  Once I had the stamped I then added White Stampin' Emboss Powder all over the entire image.  I then heat set it using my heat tool.  Once I had the entire image heat set I let it cool completely before moving on to the step.

I then took post it tape and my heat embossed cardstock and taped it down to my board.  I taped from one corner to the other corner Once I had two pieces of post it tape ran from the four corners I came back and started the ink blending process.  I started out with Poppy Parade Ink on one side of the triangle and ink blended to the middle letting it get lighter as I went.  Next I came in from the other side of the triangle and came in with Mango Melody and ink blended toward the center in the same manner.  I then moved the post it tape around to cover the triangle I just created to protect the color I just put down.  And, repeated the process each time with two new colors working around until I got all the way around.  My colors were as followed starting from the first triangle; Poppy Parade & Mango Melody, Daffodil Delight & Granny Apple Green, Coastal Cabana & Pacific Point, Gorgeous Grape & Melon Mambo.

Next I stamped the large flower bouquet from the Ornate Styles Stamp Set in Tuxedo Black ink using my Stamparatus.  I let the ink dry for a minute before I started the coloring process.  I used the following grays and black blends to color the image.  I used Gray Granite Light & Dark, Smoky Slate Light & Dark, and Basic Black Light Stampin' Blends to color the image.  I added in the warmer gray granite to add just a little warmth into the image compared to just using the color smoky slate and basic black.  I then cut the image out using my Paper Snips and a exacto knife for the inside part of the flowers.

I got the sentiment from the Seriously the Best Stamp Set which matches the Seriously the Best Kit from the January-June Mini Catalog.  I stamped the large thanks in versamark ink onto Basic Black Cardstock.  I added white stampin' emboss powder and heat set it.  Once cooled I used my paper snips and created a shadow around the word.  I then added some of the Basic Black Shimmery Ribbon to the card front, and placed the black and white bouquet over the ribbon with Stampin' Dimensionals.  I then added the thanks that I cut out over the bouquet with stampin' dimensionals.

I finished off the card by adding a few of the iridescent sequins from the Gingham Gala Adhesive Backed Sequins.  I then added the card front onto a Basic Black 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 basic black mat before adding it to my 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 Thick Whisper White card base.  Thanks for dropping by today I hope that you have a wonderful day.

Silhouette Scenes Adventure Card Video Tutorial

Hello and welcome to my blog; today I have a super cute quick and simple card for you using the Silhouette Scenes Bundle from the 2019 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog.  This card was inspired by a color challenge given to demonstrators this week to help inspire not only us but you as well to be stamping.  I love a good color challenge, and when it uses one of my favorite colors I am all in.  The Silhouette Scenes bundle has been one of my favorites since last April when I saw it at OnStage in Charlotte, but I had not ordered it until recently.  I don't know why it took me so long to order this fun stamp and die set.  Do you ever do that?  You love something so much but either don't order it or you forget about it.  I am so glad I ordered this last week and had a play with it for the card I created for you today.  Here's a look at the card.

Tips & Tricks:

I started my card by cutting all the cardstock to size.  I used a piece of Whisper White Thick Cardstock for my card base cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" scored at 4 1/4".  I cut a piece of Basic Gray Cardstock to 3 3/4" x 5" and embossed it using the Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder.  I then cut a piece of Night of Navy, Pear Pizzazz, and Pumpkin Pie Cardstocks to 1 3/8" x 3".  I used one additional piece of 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" whisper white cardstock and the adventure die from the Sweet Silhouette Dies and cut it out four times and stacked it together to make a thicker word sentiment.

I then added the embossed basic gray layer to the card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  I picked this adhesive for my card because I needed something that was strong and would attach to the embossing of the basic gray layer.  I then took the three pieces of Night of Navy, Pear Pizzazz, and Pumpkin Pie cardstocks and using the same matching ink colors for each piece of cardstock stamped one of the kids silhouette images from the stamp set onto each piece.  I tried to make sure that each silhouette was relatively in the same place.

I then added each stamped panel to the card front starting in the middle with the Pear Pizzazz layer.  Then I added the two additional layers to the side making sure to give the same amount of space around each.  I then layered up four of the adventure word die cuts with liquid glue and added it to the front of the card.  I then stamped the sentiment on the inside of the card in Pear Pizzazz Classic Ink.

The Silhouette Scenes Stamp Set features beautiful silhouettes that symbolize love and adventure and sentiments to inspire your loved ones.  I thought that the silhouettes of the kids just told a story of adventure and inspiration no matter what age the person is that receives this card is.  I love the fact that they are either pointing toward the sky (future), looking for something or playing with a toy play just told a story and spoke to me.  Then when paired with the sentiment on the inside just made it a darn good card to send out to a few friends right now.

Card Inspiration:

I got the inspiration for today's card from two different places.  As I mentioned before Stampin' Up! has been posting a different challenge each week to help give us inspiration during the pandemic to help us to stay inspired.  And I have been sharing those challenges with my team and stamping friends on my Facebook page, Stamping Group, and Team Group pages to help keep them inspired.  That was where the choices for my colors came from today.

The inspiration for this card design came from a group that I am in called Casing Tuesday Sketches.  I thought this was just a fun little sketch that just lead itself to so many different options.  I also learned yesterday that one of the founding members of the group passed away recently and was so thrilled that so many people had taken part and shared the sketches they pulled from cards from the Stampin' Up! Catalogs.  You can see in the images below that they give you the measurements for the cards and tell you the page number and catalog the sketch was inspired from.

I hope that you have enjoyed today's card and that you will have a fun time playing and being inspired with both the sketch and color challenge.  If you live in the US.  I would love you to choose me as your demonstrator.  If you would like to purchase any of these products you can click on the Shop Now Button or by clicking on any of the images below.  Alternatively, you can also contact me by email to place your order.  Please be sure to use the monthly host code and I’ll send a little something out to you the following month to say Thank You!
