Rick's Saturday Simple Stamping Episode 31: A Simple Fall Wishing You Well Card

Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am going to share with you the next episode of Rick's Saturday Simple Stamping where we will be making a Fall themed Wishing You Well Card.  As you know if you've watched any of my Saturday Simple Stamping Videos these are cards designed with the beginner crafter in mind.  They don't use a lot of supplies and are mainly just stamps ink and paper.  If you are new to my blog welcome.  In this weeks episode I am going to show you how to create a super easy and quick Fall themed Wishing you well card.  Here's a look at the card we will be making today.

My post today is part of my little mini series 12 Days of Fall.  Where I have 12 Fall themed projects coming at you back to back.

Today, we will be using the Gather Together Photopolymer Stamp Set (#150589) from the 2019 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog; which is probably one of my favorite sets in the catalog because of this large leaf stamp.  You can do so much with it.  I can not wait to just stamp it and color it, but that's for another project right!  You can order the Gather Together Stamp set as part of a Cost Saving Bundle which comes with matching dies but we are not using the dies today since this card is all about #simplestamping.  But if you want to order the Cost Saving Bundle this is the code you will want Gather Together Bundle #153036; I am all up on saving an extra 10% when I can so it's worth mentioning the bundle if your like me.
With the Gather Together Stamp Set, whether or not you can gather together with those who are close to your heart, you can share some gratitude and love with them using the Gather Together Stamp Set. Loved ones near and far will feel your love and appreciation when they receive a handstamped card from you.

My card base was made with a piece of Early Espresso Cardstock (#119686) cut at 4 1/4" x 11" scored at 5 1/2.  Remember that your card bases are usually a half of sheet of cardstock cut in half.  Here, I created a top folding card which is why it's cut at 4 1/4 x 11.  I will usually score the cardstock in half first then cut it.  This just makes it easier when you go to cut your card base; you then don't have to go back and score two card bases because they are already done by doing it this way.  And, you just score it in the middle one way or the other; either at 5 1/2 (for a top folding card) or at 4 1/4 (for a side folding card).
Next, I cut a two pieces of Whisper White Cardstock (#100730) one at 3 1/2 x 4 1/2 and one at 4 x 5 1/4 (for the inside).  I cut my layering piece from Crushed Curry Cardstock (#131199) at 3 3/4 x 4 3/4.  When you watch the video you will notice that I cut the Whisper White and Crushed Curry Cardstocks at one measurement then went back and cut them down to the measurements above.  I needed them to be just a little smaller.  I am also using two pieces of the Come to Gather Designer Series Paper (#150454).  One is 1" x 4" and the other is just a 1/2" x 4".  I actually cut these from the same larger piece of DSP (Designer Series Paper).  This is a great thing to do with the designer series paper from Stampin' Up!.  Because, one I don't have to worry about them matching my project: Since we have such great color combination it all works together.  And secondly I know that both pieces will go together because they are from the same pack and sheet.
On the 3 1/2 x 4 1/2 piece of whisper white cardstock I started out by stamping the large leaf from the Gather Together stamp set in Crushed Curry Ink (#147087) in three different places.  You want to create a visual triangle when you do this type of stamping.  Next I added in the same leaf with Pumpkin Pie Ink (#147086) starting to fill in other areas on the focal image.  To finish off the focal image I then added some Cajun Craze Ink (#147085) in any areas that was left open.  This filled in the rest of the white space n the card front and finished my focal image.  To finish off the card I added the stamped focal image onto the piece of Crushed Curry Cardstock, and then layered that on to my card base.  I then took the two pieces of the designer series paper and on the larger one I stamped my sentiment in the middle in Cajun Craze ink.  After stamping the sentiment I cut the two ends into fish tail banners.  I added that to the front of the card using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (#110755) as you all know that's my go to adhesive.  Once I had the first piece of designer series paper with the sentiment attached to the card front, I added the smaller piece cut with the same fish tail banner.
To finish the card I added the larger piece of Whisper White that I had stamped the large leaf at the bottom left and the top right in Cajun Craze to the inside.  This helps to tie everything together and adds a place for my personal message.

Falling Leaves Wishing You Well Card featuring the Gather Together Stamp Set

Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am going to share with you another project for my 12 Days of Fall Mini Series.  This card features the Gather Together Stamp Set, and the Come To Gather Designer Series Paper.  This fun Fall themed suite of products is perfect for this time of year with the rustic changing colors and the crisp cool air.  Here's a look at the card I made.

I started out my card with a piece of Pretty Peacock cardstock cut at 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4 to make a top folding card.  I then took a piece of Whisper White cut at 2 1/4 x 5 1/4 and stamped the large leaf and dotted textural stamp in the background using Pretty Peacock ink.  Once the stamping was complete I attached this to my card front using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  I next took a strip of Pretty Peacock cardstock cut at 1 3/4 x 5 1/4 and positioned it where the edges were touching in the middle tightly.

I then added a strip of the Come to Gather Designer Series Paper cut at 1 1/2 x 5 1/4 to the center of the Pretty Peacock strip I just added.  To that I added a 1/2" x 5 1/4" strip of Pretty Peacock cardstock and layered on a 1/4" x 5 1/4" of Terracotta Tile Cardstock to add a little more interest  and color to the card.  At this point I needed something to act as an embellishment so I took scraps of Terracotta Tile, Mint Macaron, and Merry Merlot cardstocks and spritzed them with a little water and used the leaf dies from the Gather Leaves Dies and ran them through my Die cutting machine.  This allowed for a little darker color on the inside of the vines of each of the embossed and die cut leaves.  I added a my sentiment on a 3/4" strip of Whisper White cardstock stamped in Pretty Peacock ink and popped it up on dimensionals.  I added the three leaves around the sentiment to look like they were falling using dimensionals also.
To finish off my card I added a piece of whisper white cut at 4 x 5 1/4 stamped with one of the large leaves in the corner.  That was attached to the inside of the card with adhesive and once I decorate the envelope this card will be ready to go.

Thanks for dropping by today I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day and I will see you tomorrow for another episode of Saturday Simple Stamping.  If you need any of the supplies you have seen today you can find them in Stampin' Up! Shopping List below.

Tags & Feathers Elements 12 Days of Fall

Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am going to share with you a card I made today using the Tags & Feather Elements (#150455) from page 47 of the Holiday Catalog.  This card is also part of my 12 Days of Fall mini series that's going on right now.  I wanted to share with you 12 Fall themed projects to help celebrate the changing of the seasons.  Fall is one of my favorite times of the year, I love when the air gets a little crisper and the leaves start to do their rich  brilliant beautiful color changing dance.  Here's a look at today's project.

The Tags & Feather Elements play a key roll in my card today.  These beautiful little wood elements help to add a touch of the out doors to my card.  The Tags & Feathers Elements are wood accents with a light whitewashed finish on one side and natural wood on the other. The Tags have holes for thread or ribbon which you can see I took advantage of today on my card.

I actually turned the little wood tag over to the natural side of the wood element and stamped my sentiment directly on it using Soft Suede Ink.  My sentiment came from the Gather Together Stamp Set (#150589).  This gave me a look of faux wood burning which was a very nice happy little accident.  I did try another one stamping on the white side but the ink and the coating on that side didn't like to play nicely together.  So my recommendation would be to stamp on the natural side and make your life easier.
After stamping my wood element I started working on my card front.  I wanted to keep it simple and let the wood element and the Come to Gather Designer Series Paper be the stars of this card today.  My card base is a piece of Blackberry Bliss Cardstock (133675) cut at 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4 to make a side folding A2 size card.  I then added a very thing piece of Whisper White Cardstock (#100730) as a mat which was cut at 5 3/8 x 4 1/8 and my main piece of the Come to Gather Designer Series Paper (150662) was cut at 4 x 5 1/4".  To accent the wood tag I used another strip of the designer series paper; I just picked one that would match and it was cut at 1" x 3 3/4 and I trimmed off one of the ends.  I also added some of the ribbon and linen thread from the Come to Gather Ribbon Combo Pack (#150456).  The ribbon I added with a little Tear & Tape (#138995) and cut the end to match the little strip of designer series paper.  The Cajun Craze Linen Thread I tied in a double bow and attached with a Mini Glue Dot (#103683).  Which is also what I used to attach the tag element.
.
And that finished off my card.  Thanks for dropping by today, I hope that you have a wonderful day, and I will see you again tomorrow.  You can find all the elements that I used to create this card in my online store.  If you would like to purchase any of these items you can do so by clicking on the item in my Stampin' Up!
