Stunning Poinsettia Window Card | Hero Arts

Hello and welcome back to my blog; today I am sharing the next project video in this year's Holiday Card Series.  In today's project we are making a fun Poinsettia Window Card using the Poinsettia Window Fancy Dies and the Color Layering Poinsettia Window Stencils from Hero Arts.

Gather Your Supplies:

First things first before I get into the ins and outs of making the card you will need to gather a few supplies.
  • Poinsettia Window Fancy Dies
  • Poinsettia Widow Color Layering Stencils
  • Your favorite Inks
  • Heavy Weight Cardstock
  • Coordinating Cardstock to make an A2 card base

Creating the Window:

Creating the window for the card is super easy with the Poinsettia Window Fancy Dies.  It not only cuts the opening into the card front but it also embosses and cuts the floral wreath into the cardstock as well. The embossed lines make it super easy to line up the coordinating stencils to add the color.  Which is where part of the magic happens with this card.

Adding the Color:

The Poinsettia Color Layering Stencils make it super easy to add the color detail to the wreath.  There are four different stencils in this set and it makes it super easy to add each layer of color to the different parts of the wreath.  At the time of making this card the Hero Arts Inks that I had ordered hadn't came in yet; so I used my Pink Fresh Studio Inks along with the Hero Arts Inks that I had on hand.

Adding a Little Glimmer:

To add a little sparkle to the card I went in and add a little Gold Hero Wax to parts of the wreath with a q-tip.  This added just the right amount of sparkle and shine to the card without a lot of work.  And you all know I am all about that.

To finish off the card I added a few of the Emerald City Jewels from Pink Fresh Studio and added the card front to the card base.  I stamped the sentiment from the Winter Foliage Stamp & Cut XL Set also from Hero Arts.  I could have also used the dies from that set to cut additional foliage and tucked into the wreath but I decided not to.  I then took my pick up tool and lifted up some of the petals and foliage in the wreath (which the die also cuts for you) for a little extra touch.

Below you will find a list of all the supplies that I used on today's card.  Remember that if you purchase something from the list I may make a small commission from the sale.  But this doesn't effect the price to you at all.  It's payed by the company to me.   This helps funds my channel and support my family.
