A Merry Hello Using Be Jolly Stamp Set - Simple Sunday Card

Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am gong to share with you a simple card using the Be Jolly Stamp Set from the July-December Mini Catalog from Stampin' Up! along with some simple coloring with my Stampin' Blends.  Here's a look at today's card.

Simple Sundays are all about creating simple cards geared towards crafters that are just beginning, or someone that wants to make some quick easy cards.

Tips & Tricks:

I started out this card by cutting my card base made from Pear Pizzazz Cardstock.  The card base is cut 4 1/4" x 11" and scored at 5 1/2".  I stamped the Christmas tree image from the Be Jolly Stamp Set in Pear Pizzazz Classic Ink all over the front of the card base.  Remember that when you do this you want to stamp each image in a triangle pattern.  This creates a visually interesting card base.

Once I had the background stamped I stamped the dancing Santa onto a piece of 3" x 4" piece of Basic White Cardstock in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.  Once I had him stamped I added the little bird on his hat and a few stars from the stamp set.  I colored them all using simple coloring.  By that I mean there is not a lot of blending.  I only used the two blends to create the coloring.  Santa's suite and the birds hat are colored with the Real Red Stampin' Blends Combo Pack.  I colored the bird with the Pool Party Stampin' Blends, and the stars are colored with the Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blend.  I colored Santa's skin with my Petal Pink Stampin' Blends, and his belt was colored with the Basic Black Stampin' Blends.  His gloves, boots, and shadows on the hat was done with the Light Basic Black Stampin' Blend.  To create the lighter shade from the darker shadow I pulled out the color with the Color Lifter.

Once the coloring was complete I added the colored panel to a piece of Real Red Cardstock cut to 4 1/4" x 3 1/4".  Which I attached to the center of the card base with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  I then stamped the sentiment onto a scrap piece of Pear Pizzazz Cardstock in Pear Pizzazz Classic Ink.  I then took my Paper Snips and cut the sentiment strip down into smaller pieces.  I attached the sentiment in a fun little fashion kind of like it's dancing along with Santa.  Once I had the sentiment cut I used Mini Glue Dots to attach it to the card base to finish the card.
