Faux Scratch Art Card - Peaceful Moments & Wild Roses Background Stamp

Hello and welcome to my blog; today I have a fun card for you with an equally fun technique to share.  Today's card features the Wild Roses Background Stamp and the Peaceful Moments Stamp Set, which both work perfectly with the Faux Scratch Art Technique.  I saw this technique during a Facebook Live in one of the groups I am apart of many months ago and went back to try and find it again and the designer that shared it but I could not find it anywhere.  So, I am sorry I can not share who I saw this technique from.  Here's a look at the card.

Faux Scratch Art Technique:

This technique works best with a background stamp that has both open spaces and dark areas.  Which makes the Wild Roses Background Stamp a perfect one for this one.  You could also use the Festive Foliage Background Stamp as well for a Christmas or Holiday version.  Once you find the right background stamp you are pretty much ready to get started.

The first thing that you have to do is create the background.  You are going to pick out some inks. I went with the Brights Collection for my card today.  And then you are going to take a smooth cardstock like Basic White.  And starting at one end you are going to ink blend in rainbow order.  I started at the top left and worked my way down to the bottom right.  Normally scratch art boards that we used as kids had the rainbow underneath which was one reason I picked this color combination.

Next you are going to place your ink blended background into a stamp positioner such as the Stamparatus.  Load up the background stamp on to the cover.  Ink it up with Tuxedo Black Ink and stamp.  Make sure that you don't move the background paper just in case you have to stamp again.  I stamped mine about three times to get a nice dark image.

Now if you want to add even more details to the faux scratch art technique and step it up a little.  You can add a few fine details to the open areas with both a Basic Black Stampin' Write Maker and a white gel pen.  To add a few highlights and scratch details that you see on must scratch art boards.

Once you have everything complete  cut your panel down to a little and mat it with a piece of Basic Black just a 1/8" larger than the card front.  Then you can add it to the card front made from Basic White Thick Cardstock.  Stamp the greeting onto some Basic White and die cut it with the Rectangle Stitched Dies.  Add it to the front with Stampin' Dimensionals.  Finish off this little beauty with just a simple embellishment like the Artistry Blooms Adhesive Backed Sequins.
