Cutest Halloween Scene Card

Hello and welcome to my blog; first off let me just tell you that you may be seeing fewer posts in the coming weeks or at least more sporadic ones.  I am having knee surgery tomorrow morning and will be transitioning my large studio today to a downsized temporary space at the dinning room table.    At least that's the plan to get done doing that today.  But, more on all that later.

Check out the Scene Card that I made using the products from the Cute Halloween Suite from Stampin' Up!'s July-December Mini Catalog.

I created a fun little split scenery card using the products from the Cutest Halloween Suite to share with you today.  As you know Halloween is one of my favorite holidays.  So, I had to share this card with you.  You can read all about the card below.

What is a Split Scenery Card:

Well this is a card that you take a piece of Designer Series Paper or a stamped scene and cut it into three different panels and put it onto the card base in a why that when it's opened it still shows the entire scene.  I picked one of the patterns from the Cute Halloween Designer Series Paper to showcase today.

Here's what the card looks like completely opened up.  As you can see I split the DSP in a way that allows you to still see the pattern completely.  Now you do this in a way that's a little different than you may think.  You are going to start with the biggest panel (which is on the front and cut it first).  That panel measures 2 10/16" x 5 1/4".  The 2 10/16" mark is the very small notch on your ruler or trimmer right before the 3/4" mark.  Your next cut is the bigger piece on the inside of the card.  That is the one that's next to the Basic White strip that has the inside sentiment on it.  And it is cut at 2 1/8" x 5 1/4".  Once you cut both of those what's left will fit perfectly in the center spot on the card.

The card base is Pumpkin Pie Cardstock scored at 1 1/2" & 4 1/4".  This is folded in a z-fold pattern.  The larger piece of Designer Series Paper on the front will cover the Basic White panel once closed.  On the 1 3/4" x 5 1/4" piece of Basic White Cardstock I stamped my inside sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and added a few of the Cute Stars Adhesive Backed Sequins for a little sparkle.

To embellish the front of the card I added some of the Black & White Gingham Ribbon wrapped around the card front and tied into a bow.  Then I added a little Pumpkin Pie Ghost that I stamped using one of the images in the Cutest Halloween Stamp Set in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink first then I inked up the solid image in Pumpkin Pie Ink and stamped off once to create a lighter color.

I then took a scrap of Basic White Cardstock and stamped the Trick or Treat sentiment in Pumpkin Pie Ink in the center and then punched it out on one side using the Everyday Label Punch.  This created a tombstone look reminiscent of the Tombstone Boxes in the July-December Mini Catalog.  I sponged around the edges of the punch out with the same ink color with a Sponge Dauber to add a little more texture and color.
