Hello and welcome to my blog and this months Blogging Friends Blog Hop. The July Theme for our blog hop was Summer WOW Cards! These are cards that are over the top and different from a typical card. I know that you will find some great inspiration during the hop this month. So, Let's get into it shall we.
For my card for this months hop I wanted to create something that you may not have seen before. Well the fold you have seen but the size and subject matter you may not have. I created a 6" x 6" Gatefold card to showcase the diversity of race and that we should all try to get along. Here's a look at my card.
I used the Inspired Thoughts Stamp Set for my sentiment on the outside and inside of my card today. I know that you are probably wondering where in the world I got the hand die cut from. Well I made it myself. I found a template online with a simple Google search and then printed out the template and cut them out and traced them onto my Very Vanilla Cardstock for the front and then cut it out with my Paper Snips.
I repeated the process on the inside of the card using the second hand template that I found but I traced it and cut it out on Early Espresso Cardstock. I added the same pattern of the Pattern Party Designer Series Paper that I used on the front. I also used this pattern paper as the nail color for the hand on the outside. I added some Shimmery Crystal Effects to the top of the nails to add shine and dimension to them.
For the flower that the hand on the outside is holding I cut a piece of Old Olive Cardstock into a stem and used the Poppy Moments Dies to cut out the inside and outside of the leaves. I cut the vein of the leaves from Granny Apple Green Cardstock and used the Medium Daisy and the Daisy Punches to create the flower from Pale Papaya Cardstock. I bent the fingers around the stem so that it looked as if was holding the flower and handing it to the hand on the inside of the card.
For the inside of the card I left the hand open as if it was receiving the flower from the other person. And I stamped the sentiment at the top of the card. When I added the sticker to the back of this sentiment stamp I didn't line it up correctly so everytime I go to use it I forget that it's off slightly and get a crocked image. I am going to have to make a note in my stamp case to remind me of this. But, all in all even with the crocked sentiment on the inside (I mean it's handmade not hallmark right) I think this is a fun Summer WOW Card, and is perfect for today's blog hop.
