I think that it's super important to remember that as humans we always need to grow.  It maybe in life, it may be in experiences, it may even be in our personal lives but we all need to remember to grow.  And this card is a great one to make and send to people to help them remember and encourage them of that little thing and that you are there for them.

Stamping with Blocks:

I know what you are thinking but Rick we stamp with blocks all the time!  What in the world are you talking about? Well, I am not talking about putting your cling or photopolymer stamps onto your wonderful Stampin' Up! Clear Blocks.  I am talking about adding color to an outlined image or creating texture on your cards or projects as I have done here.  To create this look I simply inked up my plain old clear block in So Saffron, Pale Papaya, and Old Olive Classic Inks and stamped them onto the cardstock to make this fun colorful textured background for the large cluster of flowers from the Dragonfly Garden Stamp Set.

Yes, you read that correctly!  Ink up your clear block and use it as a stamp to create fun colors and texture on your project.  As I said I used three different colors and only one size block.  I used the E Block today on my project onto a scrap piece of Basic White Cardstock and then trimmed it down to size.  I then stamped the outline image of the flowers from the Dragonfly Garden Stamp Set in Tuxedo Black Ink on top.  This added multiple colors to the flowers, but also added texture to the background as well.

When you are stamping with blocks you will want either a Stampin' Mat or something like a phone book to stamp on.  It helps to give a little cushion the stamping.  Another thing to remember is that what ever grim is on your block will show up in the finished product.  Which isn't necessarily a bad thing to add a little more texture to the stamped block images.  Just wanted to make sure you are aware.

To finish off the card today I added the cut down block stamped image and matted it to a Pale Papaya mat and then stamped one of the dragonflies from the Dragonfly Garden Stamp Set on Pale Papaya Cardstock in Old Olive Ink and punched it out with the matching punch.  I then added a few Genial Gems to add a little bling to the card.

Thanks for dropping by today, I hope that you have a wonderful day I hope that you give this fun little block stamping technique a try this week.  If you need any of the supplies that you have seen today you can pick them up in my online store.
