Just Wanted To Say - Simply Succulents Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog; today I have a super cute and fun card to share with you using the Faux Distress Oxide Technique.  I did a very traditional Distress Oxide technique on my card today; Ink Blending!  Here's a look at my card.

Tips & Tricks:

This is technique is way easier than you may think with the right supplies.  If you missed my post yesterday with the video tutorial on how to do this technique you can click here to check it out.  I also love that I can get the Distress Oxide look with my Stampin' Up! supplies.  I thought this would be the perfect technique to do with the Simply Succulents Bundle.  Which is why I used it today and picked the  colors I did.

After stamping the succulents, die cutting them with the matching dies and cutting down my background panel I cam back in with my Old Olive and Bermuda Bay Blends and added a little more color to the succulents.  I did this by adding a little shading to the shadow areas only.  I also used the large die from the die set and cut it three times from Basic White Cardstock to add a little more interest and texture to the card front.  I layered these up with Multipurpose Liquid Glue one on top of the other.

To make the potted plant stand out more from the background I added it to a stitched rectangle that I die cut from Basic White Cardstock with the Rectangle Stitched Dies.  I then added one of my sentiments that had been heat embossed on Basic Black Cardstock with the Many Messages Stamp set and cut out with the Messages Dies.  You can really see all the texture in the image above with the Faux Distress Oxide Ink Blending Technique.

To finish off my card I added a few of the Artistry Blooms Adhesive Backed Sequins and layered the card front onto a Basic Black mat which got adhered to my Thick Basic White card base.  My card today is part of this week's creative challenge over at The Spot Creative Challenge Blog.  This week's challenge is all about ink blending.  So, I know you will find a lot of inspiration over there this week.  I will be live at 8:30 pm CST tonight on my Facebook Business Page sharing a few more techniques with the Craft White Ink Pad so make sure you join me there tonight.

Thanks for dropping by today, I hope that you give this technique a try and that you play along with us this week over at the Spot Creative Challenge.  If you need any of the supplies that you have seen today you can pick them up in my online store by clicking on the item in my Stampin' Up!
