5 Cards from 1 Card Sketch - Facebook Live Replay 4/20/21

Hello and welcome to my blog; last night during my weekly Facebook Live I shared how to make five different cards using the same card layout and sketch.  Card sketches are a great way to find inspiration for your creative process, and to help jump start your mojo if you are having problems coming up with ideas.

I had so much fun last night sharing different ways to use the same card sketch to make five different cards.  As I mentioned above card sketches are a great way to find inspiration and a creative jumpstart.  This is also the same sketch that my card yesterday was based on.  The sketch comes from this weeks creative challenge over at The Spot Creative Challenge Blog.  We launch a new challenge each Tuesday morning at 6 am CST.  Here's a look at this week's sketch that inspired all these cards.

I made five different cards using this same sketch just with different interpretations of it.  That's the great thing about sketches they are a great starting point to your creativity and you can take them as far creatively as you would like.  For the first card that I created I kept it very close to the actual card sketch.

All of my cards features the Dragonfly Garden Bundle from the January-June Mini Catalog, and the matching Dandy Garden Designer Series Paper.  I added different embellishments and ribbon to change them up a little.  Plus I did through in a little different paper here and there as accents.  The Dragonfly Garden Bundle is my featured bundle in my Online Monthly Bundle Class this month.  (You can register for the class until April 27, 2021 by clicking here.)

For my second card I used the same supplies but added the Gilded Gems in for a little sparkle.  I also shifted the main layer of the card up to the top left hand corner and for the large rectangle on the sketch I cut it into four different pieces of equal size.  It still has the same fell of the sketch but just used in a slightly different way.

The third card that I did with this sketch I turned into a landscape card and stretched the long rectangle from the sketch to go the full width of the card.  I added some Old Olive Ribbon around the card base over lapping the designer series paper and the card base to create a smooth transition.

On the fourth card I stretched out both the long rectangle and the main layer on the sketch.  I used the Dandy Garden Designer Series Paper to cover the entire 4 1/4" x 11" card base.  And stamped my main focal image onto a piece of the Natural Thoughts Speciality Paper.  I added a little more color to the flowers with Bumblebee Ink and a Sponge Dauber.  I punched the sentiment out with the Tailored Tag Punch and popped it up on Stampin' Dimensionals.

For the last card I used the Nature Thoughts Speciality Paper as the main focal element on the side folding card.  I cut down my rectangle element to fit in this layer.  I punched out the Blackberry Bliss and Basic Black dragonfly from the Dandy Garden Designer Series Paper and added the sentiment in a 2" Circle.
