Poinsettia Petals Gift Box Video Tutorial ~ Rick Adkins

The Poinsettia Place Stamp Set and matching dies are one of my favorites in the catalog. This was one set that I knew I had to have the first time I saw it. One because I love Poinsettias and two it's just so darn stinking cute it was a must have. The Poinsettia Petals Bundle includes the Poinsettia Petals Stamp Set and the Poinsettia Dies. I always try to purchase both parts of the bundle to get the 10% savings on both items when possible. The Poinsettia Petals Stamp Set will allow you to send warm wishes from your home this season with handmade cards with poinsettias and messages. Create blooming Poinsettias using the Poinsettia Dies. Place the flowers on a card or add them to scrapbook pages for extra dimension. Or use the dies to cut out the poinsettia as I did today on the top of my box; as a lovely festive accent to bring the magic of the season to life.

I love to create boxes during the Holiday Season and other times of the year, but for me boxes have a special place during Holiday crafting. My personal belief is that a handmade box or card makes the gift even more special. There's nothing more exciting than getting a pretty box all tied up and dressed up for the holiday. And this box design is one of my favorites with the floating top that justs add to the magic of the season.

I stamped the poinsettia on Whisper White Cardstock and colored it with my Real Red, Old Olive, and Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends. I then cut it out with the Poinsettia Dies and placed it on top of the box lid. I also added the sentiment stamped in Real Red Ink on a strip of Whisper White that I cut on both ends at an angle. The box is held closed from the ribbon that is wrapped around the box and hidden under the floating top.

During my Live I created the same box but changed up the colors and the piece of Poinsettia Place Designer Series Paper that's on top of the lid. For this version I used Real Red for the top and Garden Green for the bottom of the box. For the original version I used Soft Suede and Real Red Cardstock.

The finished size of this box is 4" wide x 4" long x 2" tall. So, you can see just from the measurements that the box is a great size for the holiday season. Plus you can put a lot of treats on the inside of the box.
