Everything Essential Halloween Window Card

Hello and welcome to my blog; today I have a fun simple window card to share with you just in time for Halloween.  Halloween is Saturday, but you still have time to make this fun little card.  Sometimes you can do so much with just stamps, ink, and paper!  You, don't have to have everything in the catalogs!  Yes, I just said that.

Sometimes all you need is a good all around stamp set to get you through and the Everything Essential stamp set has that.  You have Halloween, Christmas, Valentines Day and other images and sentiments that will last you for awhile.  To me it's fun to use just a few supplies to create a super cute little card like I did with this window card today.  Here's a look at my card.

I started off my card with a piece of Whisper White Cardstock cut at 5 1/4" x 4" and the Everything Essential Bundle from Stampin' Up!.  You can find this bundle in my online store.  It's from the August-December Mini Catalog.  If you have the August-December Mini Catalog you can find it on page 61.  Then Everything Essential Bundle comes with the Everything Essential Stamp Set and the Essential Tag Punch.

I used my Sponge Brayers to create the ink blended background on my card today.  To create the the ink blended background I used the colors listed in the image above.  I started out with the lightest color and built up each layer of color until I had the designed color and blend.  So, I started the ink blending with Daffodil Delight and moved to Mango Melody, and then to Pumpkin Pie.  I then added Rich Razzleberry which acts as a transition color between orange and blue violet. I used Misty Moonlight to create a darker shade and transition to a night sky.  Once I had all the ink blending completed I flicked on a little water to create a little texture and a galaxy look.

After I had the ink blending complete and the water flicks were dry I stamped on the bats and the hunted house image from the Everything Essential Stamp Set in Tuxedo Black Ink.  I then attached the Whisper White Ink blended piece to my Thick Whisper White card base.  Next I used the Essential Tag Punch and punched out the window opening in the front.  As I worked on the rest of the card I set my sentiment piece to the side.  I wrapped some of the Black Organdy Glitter Ribbon around the card and tied it into a flat knot.  I then added a few of the Iridescent Pearls to the front of the card.

I opened the card and added a strip of the Black Glitter Paper.  I made banner ends on both sides of the Glitter Paper.  I then closed the card and took my sentiment piece and attached it in the window opening.  I used a couple Stampin' Dimensionals to pop it up over the glitter paper banner.  Once the card is closed it's the same size as the card front.
