Blogging Friends August Blog Hop: Theme Back to School Bash

Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am going to share with you this month's card for the Blogging Friends Blog Hop for August.  This month our theme was Back to School Bash.  So you can have so many outcomes with that theme.  I could have done party favors, dimensional projects, a memory and more spread, but I went with a card that could be placed in your love ones' lunch  box or backpack.  Why would you put it in one of those places?  Well, wouldn't you love to find a little note in your bag that someone that loves you left as a little surprise or random act of kindness.  Think of the over all message you would be giving your children if  you did this one little thing once in a while.  Think how that one little act could change a life.  Here's a little look at my card.

I used the Check You Out stamp set to create my card today.  It was the perfect set to create a card for this months theme.  The Check You Out Stamp Set is especially great for book worms and wise owls (and anybody else enjoying the look and feel of this set).  The library theme of some of the images makes it a great choice with a touch of whimsy.  I mean really what's not whimsical about a book worm with a bow tie or an owl with glasses.  I am just saying.
I started out my card by stamping the Pineapple Punch card base with the Handwritten Background stamp in matching ink.  I then used a strip of the 2018-2020 In Color Designer Series Paper in Pineapple Punch.  Of course I had to use the Gingham pattern from that set.  I matted this piece of great paper with a little Early Espresso Cardstock and layered it in the background.  I then stamped the two skinny pieces of Whisper White cardstock.  On one I stamped a stack of layered books alternating the colors between Old Olive, Early Espresso, and Pineapple Punch.  One the other piece I stamped two of the book worms.  One was stamped right below the other so that it made him very long.  I knew I was going to stamp the owl and the library card on a different element.  That way I could hid the unwanted parts.
Speaking of the owl and library card I stamped the library card first in Pineapple punch and then stamped the owl on top.  I then stamped the owl again and fussy cut him out.  I popped him up using a dimensional.  I also popped up the stitched circle using Dimensionals as well.  I added the sentiment with the scalloped circle dies and the 1" circle die.  I added a strip of the same designer series paper to the inside of the card.
Thanks for dropping by and that you have enjoyed my little card today.  You will find a full list of supplies below the blog roll.  Speaking of blog rolls if you are viewing this post via my Wordpress site you will need to click here to view the blog roll other wise you are in the right place.
