My Top 10 Picks from the New August-December Mini Catalog

Hello and welcome to my blog today I am here to share with you my top ten favorite new items from the August-December Mini Catalog.  I have been through the new catalog many many times and wanted to take a few minutes and share my favorite new items with you.  All the images that you will see are copyrighted by Stampin' Up!.  Let's get started with my favorites count down shall we.

Number 10:  Real Red Braided Linen Trim

One of my new favorite ribbons has to be the Real Red 3/16" Braided Linen Trim.  This thick rustic ribbon in festive Real Red can be unwoven easily if you want a frayed look or leave it as is for a fun and unexpected reveal.

9.  Yuletide Paster Stamp Set:

I fell head over heels with the Yuletide Pasture Stamp Set because of the little long horn bull with the ornaments on him.  And not to mention the other cozy critters in this fun little stamp set.  But the bull just made me giggle.

Create Christmas cards and other paper crafts with the Yuletide Pasture Stamp Set. The set includes Christmas greetings and cute pasture animals, decorated and ready to celebrate Christmas!

8.  Tag Buffet Project Kit

Tag Buffet Project Kit

Create stunning seasonal gift tags with the Tag Buffet Project Kit! This kit is perfect for new crafters, busy crafters, or crafters on the go. Pair with the Tag Buffet Photopolymer Stamp Set (sold separately), ink, and your choice of adhesive for complete tags.

I adore the Tags Buffet Project Kit not only do I love the tags that's in the kit but I love the little box that everything comes in.  It's like a little Christmas Mini Paper Pumpkin Box that's ready to put a tag on it and give as a gift.  Which is a perfect gift for any crafter.  The tags in this set are not only great to put tags on gifts at Christmas but you can use them as elements on card fronts.  You could totally make thrity easy cards for Christmas.  Which is why it made my list.

7.  Sequins for Everything

SEQUINS FOR EVERYTHING

Decorate your handmade cards and other paper crafts with a rainbow of colors. The Sequins For Everything are no-hole sequins in 4 color groups and 3 different shapes: faceted circle, flat circle, hexagon. Each color group has 3 different shades.  I love the fact that I can purchase one embellishment and have some for four different seasons or holidays.  I also love that these sequins have no hole in the middle of them. And, they are perfect for shaker cards as you can see below.

6.  Gift Wrapped Bundle

GIFT WRAPPED BUNDLE

The Gift Wrapped Bundle includes the Gift Wrapped Stamp Set and the Gift Bow Builder Punch. This bundle is perfect for other occasions not just Christmas!  What other occasions can you think of to use this for?  I can think of Birthdays, baby showers, and so many more occasions that you may give a present for that you could use this set for above and beyond just the holidays.

5.  Magic In This Night Designer Series Paper

MAGIC IN THIS NIGHT DESIGNER SERIES PAPER

The Magic In This Night Designer Series Paper was one I wasn't sure about until I got it.  Once I got it I fell instantly in love with it.  I have a number of projects coming that I have used this paper for.

Dress up your Halloween projects with elegant watercolored designs and florals from the Magic in this Night Designer Series Paper. This high-quality printed paper is an excellent scrapbook paper, card making paper, and more. The pack includes Halloween-themed images such as spiders, spider webs, bats, and florals.  With all the little elements in this paper there's a lot of ideas that you can come up to use this paper for during the year besides just Halloween.  Which was another reason that I added it as one of my top ten favorites.

4.  Plaid Tidings Suite Collection

PLAID TIDINGS SUITE COLLECTION

The classic images and patterns of the Plaid Tidings Suite Collection are ready for any holiday project whether it is Christmas, Halloween, or any paper craft you create during the year. You’ll love what you can do with these fresh designs and beautiful collection. The Plaid Tidings Suite made my top ten list because of two major reasons.  One was because the Plaid Tidings Designer Series Paper was designed with so many different colors that you can find a use for it for so many different holidays.  The second reason was it was plaid.  And I just adore plaid in cloths and when we had plaid in the past papers I always went to them first.

The Plaid Tidings Suite Collection includes
* Celebration Tidings Photopolymer Stamp Set (10% off)
* Celebration Labels Dies (10% off)
* 3/8" (1 cm) Embroidered Ribbon
* Plaid Tidings 6" x 6" (15.2 x 15.2 cm) Designer Series Paper

1.  Have a Hoot Bundle

My number one pick from the NEW August-December Mini Catalog was the Have a Hoot Bundle.  I personally loved this bundle as soon as I flipped to it's page in the catalog.  I loved the fact that they were Halloween and Christmas in the same set.  I also love the dies not just because they the stamped and colored images but they have dies that could be used for other cards.  I the tag dies that you see here in the top right of this picture can be used to create a shaker card or a window card.

Creative Stampers Blog Hop - Ghoulish Goodies Card

Hello and welcome to my blog; today is a special day.  Today, I am happy to bring to you the first Creative Stampers Blog Hop.  The Creative Stampers are a group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators that come together each month to bring you the Creative Stampers Tutorial Bundle.  I started the Creative Stampers Tutorial Bundle group a little over a year ago.  I pulled together a group of very talented demonstrators with one goal in mind.  To share the love of crafting with others each month.  Each month we each create a project and write a tutorial that is put together in a bundle that we share with our customers, and teams.  For our customers is a Thank you for your orders for our teams and customers it's a way for us to help encourage you to keep stamping and creating.   So, I have wanted to have a blog hop with these talented individuals for a long time and we have finally made that happen.  In this blog hop we will be sharing our alternative projects each month for the items that we have each created for our tutorials.  You will get a chance to see a sneak peek of the project that we designed in the tutorial but you will also get to see a alternative project that we came up with.  Here's a look at my alternative for this month.

Ghoulish Goodies:

I was going to do this card for my project for this month's Creative Stampers Tutorial, but I decided to go with another project instead since I usually do a card for the tutorials.  This month's theme is Cozy Critters, every one used one of the stamp sets from either the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog or the August-December Mini Catalog with a animal in it.

I picked the Ghoulish Goodies Stamp Set to create my projects with this month.  I purchased this stamp set for this little kitty right here.  He reminds me of my little Louie.  So, I just had to feature this set this month.  The Ghoulish Goodies Stamp Set allows you to create fun and spooky handmade cards, tags, and more for Halloween.

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays and I love to make cards and other projects for this magical night.  For the background of my card I could have used a piece of the new Magic In This Night Designer Series Paper but I had a wonderful idea to use the new Cobwebs 3D Embossing Folder instead.  I still wanted it to look spooky but knew I wanted to use Basic Black.  I knew that Basic Black would be way to dark by itself and the cobweb embossing wouldn't show up.  So I had to options to make it stand out.  I could use Whisper White Craft Ink or Frost White Shimmer Paint and sponge over it to make it stand out.  I decided that I wanted to use the Frost White Shimmer Paint so that it would have a magical glow and shimmer to each web as if the morning light is hitting a due soaked web early in the morning.

Color Inspiration:

Once I got all the pieces of my card together I wanted to add just a little bit more sparkle to the card so I took some Bumblebee In Color Ribbon and the Black Glittered Organdy Ribbon and tied them together in a bow.  This allowed the glitter to glow and added another pop of color to the card.  Speaking of colors, I decided on a color pallet of Pretty Peacock, Blackberry Bliss, Bumblebee, Basic Black and Very Vanilla for my card today.  Most of the colors came from the Magic In This Night Designer Series Paper.  I added in the Bumblebee because I thought it would compliment the other colors nicely and give a great pop of color.

Project Recipe:

I have created a graphic that you can save to your Pinterest Boards to make it easy to remember what the main items on today's card was.  If you would like to see all my other Project Recipes you can do so by clicking here.

Blog Roll:

Just a little note that if you are viewing this post by email you may not be able to see the blog roll.  If that is the case if you will click here and visit the webpage you will be able to hop along with us today.

Sneak Peek:

Here is the a little sneak peek at my Ghoulish Goodies project in this month's Creative Stampers Tutorial Bundle.  I can not share the entire project with you because they are exclusive to the Tutorial Bundle.
