Creative Stampers Blog Hop - Ghoulish Goodies Card

Hello and welcome to my blog; today is a special day.  Today, I am happy to bring to you the first Creative Stampers Blog Hop.  The Creative Stampers are a group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators that come together each month to bring you the Creative Stampers Tutorial Bundle.  I started the Creative Stampers Tutorial Bundle group a little over a year ago.  I pulled together a group of very talented demonstrators with one goal in mind.  To share the love of crafting with others each month.  Each month we each create a project and write a tutorial that is put together in a bundle that we share with our customers, and teams.  For our customers is a Thank you for your orders for our teams and customers it's a way for us to help encourage you to keep stamping and creating.   So, I have wanted to have a blog hop with these talented individuals for a long time and we have finally made that happen.  In this blog hop we will be sharing our alternative projects each month for the items that we have each created for our tutorials.  You will get a chance to see a sneak peek of the project that we designed in the tutorial but you will also get to see a alternative project that we came up with.  Here's a look at my alternative for this month.

Ghoulish Goodies:

I was going to do this card for my project for this month's Creative Stampers Tutorial, but I decided to go with another project instead since I usually do a card for the tutorials.  This month's theme is Cozy Critters, every one used one of the stamp sets from either the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog or the August-December Mini Catalog with a animal in it.

I picked the Ghoulish Goodies Stamp Set to create my projects with this month.  I purchased this stamp set for this little kitty right here.  He reminds me of my little Louie.  So, I just had to feature this set this month.  The Ghoulish Goodies Stamp Set allows you to create fun and spooky handmade cards, tags, and more for Halloween.

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays and I love to make cards and other projects for this magical night.  For the background of my card I could have used a piece of the new Magic In This Night Designer Series Paper but I had a wonderful idea to use the new Cobwebs 3D Embossing Folder instead.  I still wanted it to look spooky but knew I wanted to use Basic Black.  I knew that Basic Black would be way to dark by itself and the cobweb embossing wouldn't show up.  So I had to options to make it stand out.  I could use Whisper White Craft Ink or Frost White Shimmer Paint and sponge over it to make it stand out.  I decided that I wanted to use the Frost White Shimmer Paint so that it would have a magical glow and shimmer to each web as if the morning light is hitting a due soaked web early in the morning.

Color Inspiration:

Once I got all the pieces of my card together I wanted to add just a little bit more sparkle to the card so I took some Bumblebee In Color Ribbon and the Black Glittered Organdy Ribbon and tied them together in a bow.  This allowed the glitter to glow and added another pop of color to the card.  Speaking of colors, I decided on a color pallet of Pretty Peacock, Blackberry Bliss, Bumblebee, Basic Black and Very Vanilla for my card today.  Most of the colors came from the Magic In This Night Designer Series Paper.  I added in the Bumblebee because I thought it would compliment the other colors nicely and give a great pop of color.

Press On Coffee & Courage Card - The Spot Challenge #122

Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am going to share with you my card for this week's challenge over at the Spot Challenge Blog.  This week we have a themed challenge for you and it's one of my favorites.  It is Coffee, Cocktails, and Chocolate.  You can create a project with all of these or just one.  I picked the Press On Stamp Set to create my card for you today.  It's new in the August-December Mini Catalog that just went live today.  Here's a look at my card.

Tips & Tricks:

To start my card I cut a piece of the Gilded Autumn Specialty Designer Series Paper to 4" x 5 1/4" and layered it onto a piece of Mint Macaron Cardstock.  I then layered that onto my Early Espresso card base that was cut at 4 1/4" x 11" scored at 5 1/2".  Next I stamped the coffee cup from the Press On Stamp Set (which by the way is the featured stamp set in my Monthly Online Card Club this month) in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on to a piece of Very Vanilla Thick Cardstock.

Once I had the coffee cup stamped out I colored it with Crumb Cake, Cajun Craze, and Mint Macaron Stampin' Blends.  I then die cut it with the second largest Circle from the Layering Circle Dies.  I attached it to a scalloped circle from the same die set.  I tied some Early Espresso Faux Suede Ribbon around my card base and layered my circle on top with Stampin' Dimensionals.  I then stamped Press On in Early Espresso Ink onto a piece of Mint Macaron Cardstock and added it to the front of my card.

To add a little bling to my card I added a few of the sequins from the Sequins for Everything Mix.  I added each one with my Take Your Pick Tool and a little Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  My color combination for this week's card was Early Espresso, Cajun Craze, Crumb Cake, Mint Macaron, and Very Vanilla.

To finish off my card I added a piece of Thick Very Vanilla to the inside of the card and stamped my inside sentiment in Early Espresso Ink.  I also added a small strip of the same piece of Gilded Autumn Spec. Designer Series Paper.  I also added this to the outside of the envelope flap as well to tie everything in.

Make Today Ridiculously Awesome

Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am going to share a little fun inspiring card that could be made for anyone, using the Ridiculously Awesome Stamp Set which was inspired by Million Dollar Achiever Ronda Wade and designed by Shawn Douglas (husband of CEO Sara Douglas).  This stamp set has been one of the most popular sets since the new Annual Catalog went live in June.  It has sold out I know three times already.  This is also the stamp set that I am featuring in this month's online monthly card class in my Crafty Corner Classroom.  Here's a look at my card.

Tips & Tricks:

There's really not a lot of tricks to this card.  It's pretty straight forward.  I used Magenta Madness Cardstock to make my 4 1/4 x 11 card base.  I started off my card by picking a piece of Designer Series Paper that wouldn't distract from my sentiment but yet would be a bold enough to stand up with it.  I ended up going with a Coastal Cabana Watercolor Wash piece from the Playing with Patterns Designer Series Paper.  I stamped a few of the hearts from the stamp set around the DSP in Coastal Cabana Ink to add a little more interest.  To which I added the So Saffron Layer.

Next I took some of the Whisper White Crinkle Seam Binding and my So Saffron Stampin' Blends and colored the ribbon.  I let the ribbon dry while I stamped my big bold sentiment designed by Shawn.  Just a little note Shawn actually hand drew all the sentiments and then Stampin' Up! turned them into the Red Rubber Stamps.  Pretty cool right.  My sentiment was stamped in Magenta Madness Ink and cut out using the Stitched So Sweetly Dies.  I then Tied the ribbon around the So Saffron and DSP layer and tied it into a bow.  I left the long streamers to add a little more interest to the card.

I then added the stitched scalloped rectangle with my sentiment on it to the front of the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.  And that finished my card.  I did add another set of the hearts on the sentiment that I colored in with my So Saffron Blends.
