Make Today Ridiculously Awesome

Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am going to share a little fun inspiring card that could be made for anyone, using the Ridiculously Awesome Stamp Set which was inspired by Million Dollar Achiever Ronda Wade and designed by Shawn Douglas (husband of CEO Sara Douglas).  This stamp set has been one of the most popular sets since the new Annual Catalog went live in June.  It has sold out I know three times already.  This is also the stamp set that I am featuring in this month's online monthly card class in my Crafty Corner Classroom.  Here's a look at my card.

Tips & Tricks:

There's really not a lot of tricks to this card.  It's pretty straight forward.  I used Magenta Madness Cardstock to make my 4 1/4 x 11 card base.  I started off my card by picking a piece of Designer Series Paper that wouldn't distract from my sentiment but yet would be a bold enough to stand up with it.  I ended up going with a Coastal Cabana Watercolor Wash piece from the Playing with Patterns Designer Series Paper.  I stamped a few of the hearts from the stamp set around the DSP in Coastal Cabana Ink to add a little more interest.  To which I added the So Saffron Layer.

Next I took some of the Whisper White Crinkle Seam Binding and my So Saffron Stampin' Blends and colored the ribbon.  I let the ribbon dry while I stamped my big bold sentiment designed by Shawn.  Just a little note Shawn actually hand drew all the sentiments and then Stampin' Up! turned them into the Red Rubber Stamps.  Pretty cool right.  My sentiment was stamped in Magenta Madness Ink and cut out using the Stitched So Sweetly Dies.  I then Tied the ribbon around the So Saffron and DSP layer and tied it into a bow.  I left the long streamers to add a little more interest to the card.

I then added the stitched scalloped rectangle with my sentiment on it to the front of the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.  And that finished my card.  I did add another set of the hearts on the sentiment that I colored in with my So Saffron Blends.

Peaceful Boughs for The Spot Challenge #120

Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am going to share with you my card for this week's Creative Challenge over at The Spot!  This week we have a fun festive challenge for you.  This week's challenge is a Christmas in July Challenge.  Share your Christmas themed projects with us this week.  I used the Peaceful Boughs Stamp Set from the 2020-2021 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog along with the matching Beautiful Boughs Dies.  Here's a look at my card.

Tips & Tricks:

My card is a relatively easy one to make I know your all shocked.  I started off my picking the stamp set that I wanted to use.  I could have shared one of the new sets coming out in the August-December Mini Catalog but I felt with so many wonderful Christmas sets in the Annual Catalog that they needed a little love too.  Plus I never got a chance to use this set last year and I wanted to give it a go and see what it could do.  So, once the stamp set was picked I knew I would probably be using the matching dies as well.  And, of course I did and they actually played a big part in my card design.

After picking the stamp set and dies it was a matter of picking the colors to use.  So I went with Real Red, Pear Pizzazz, Soft Suede, and Whisper White for the colors of my card.  These colors together have a wonderful festive feel to them.  So I thought they would be perfect for my card.

Once the colors were picked I started to work.  I used the Woodland Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of Soft Suede Cardstock (4 x 5 1/4) and placed it onto a piece of Whisper White Cardstock (4 1/8 x 5 3/8).  I then cut a piece of the Real Red Designer Series Paper from the Regals Designer Series Paper Collection to 2 1/4" x 5 1/4" and placed it onto a Pear Pizzazz mat that was cut at 2 1/2 x 5 1/4.  All of which got attached to my Pear Pizzazz card base (4 1/4" x 11" scored at 5 1/2").

Once I had all my base pieces in place it was time to work on the sentiment and focal images.  I choose to feature the pine bough and pine cones as the main focal image of my card but I didn't want them to be in just one color.  Since the die only cuts out one large piece I cut it out twice.  I cut it once from a scrap of Soft Suede Cardstock and once from some Pear Pizzazz Cardstock and performed a little surgery.  I cut off all the pine needles from the Pear Pizzazz die cut and glued them to the Soft Suede piece.  This did take a little bit of time since some of the needles are individual or very small piece.  But, I think it worked out great in the end.  Once I had them all attached I added this to my card front with a little liquid glue.  I place a clear block on it to hold it in place and add a little weight while I did my stamping.

I stamped the two different pine cones from the Peaceful Boughs Stamp Set in Soft Suede Classic Ink onto some Whisper White Cardstock and used the matching dies to cut them out.  I placed each one onto the branch with a Stampin' Dimensional behind so that I had a little more dimension.  I then started working on my greeting.  I decided that I needed to add a little more Real Red to my card so I stamped the greeting in Real Red Classic Ink onto a scrap of Whisper White Cardstock and cut it out with one of the beautiful dies from the Beautiful Boughs Dies.  I added the sentiment to the card front with a few Stampin' Dimensionals.

July Blogging Friends Blog Hop - Green with Envy

Hello and welcome to my blog, and welcome to the July Blogging Friends Blog Hop.  This month our theme was Green with Envy.  I let everyone interpret that as they wanted but we are showcasing greens today.  Everyone did some fabulous projects.  By the way you may be seeing some new faces along the way of the hop as well as a new look coming soon.  Here's a look at my card for this month's hop.

I used the Arrange a Wreath Bundle for my card today along with two of my favorite greens (Shaded Spruce and Just Jade).  Shaded Spruce has been around since the Color revamp a couple years ago and Just Jade is one of our new 2020-2022 In Colors.  I love pairing them together because they play so well together.  I did add in a little Calypso Coral to make them pop just a little bit more.

I started out by stamping the one wreath from the stamp set in Shaded Spruce Classic Ink and then die cut the other (from the matching die set) from some Just Jade Cardstock and added it off set to the stamped wreath.  This allowed me to have both colors without having to do any fancy maneuvers with my Stamparatus.  The little flowers on the wreath are also die cuts from Calypso Coral Cardstock that I attached and added Champagne Rhinestones to the center of each.  I then added a Just Jade Gingham bow with a Mini Glue Dot and stamped the sentiment in the center or the wreath to finish off my card.

Thanks for dropping by I hope that you have fun hopping along today.  Make sure that you leave comments because everyone loves comments and we would love to know what you think of our projects.
