Four Corner Flap Card - How To Video

Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am going to share the fun little card that I created during my Facebook Live on Wednesday night this week.  I created a fun little fun fold card inspired by Gloria Plunkett's design I found on Pintrest.  I loved this little card so much that I just had to make my own version of it.  Here's a look at my card that features the A Grand Kid Stamp Set and the Flowers For Every Season Designer Series Paper.

I love this card for one reason because it showcases both sides of your designer series paper.  Which I love!  I I don't have to worry to much about which side I am going to use because you can see both sides.  Which is always a problem when you use Designer Series Papers.  Sometimes you just can not decided which side to face up.  This takes card of that problem.

My sentiment came from the A Grand Kid Stamp Set which has some very fun sentiments that can be used for anyone not just a grandchild.  And considering I don't have kids or grandkids it's a good thing.  To make this card you will need four sheets of Designer Series paper cut at 2 1/2" x 1 7/8".  You are going to fold one corner down on each one to make the Four Corner Flap Card.  I measured in from one side a 1/2" on the bottom or top depending on which way your DSP will be facing.  And 1 1/8" from the side and made two little pencil marks to know where to score at.

After cutting scoring and folding in the flaps on the designer series paper you are going to need something to put them on.  I used a 4 x 5 1/4 piece of Just Jade Cardstock as my card front base.  I added each piece of the Flowers for Every Season Designer Series Paper to the card front with a little Stampin' Seal Adhesive with just a little 1/8" border around the edges.  My center border was just a little bigger.  I stamped my sentiment from the A Grand Kid Stamp Set in Just Jade Classic Ink and cut it out with the next to the smallest Stitched Square Die from the Stitched Shapes Dies.  I cut it where it created a diamond and placed it in the center of the card front with a couple Stampin' Dimensionals.  I added the card front to a Thick Whisper White card base cut at 4 1/4 x 11 (scored at 5 1/2).

Here's my Product Recipe card that contain the main parts of the card.  You can save this to one of your inspiration boards on Pinterest if you would like.  Thanks for dropping by today I hope that you have a wonderful weekend.  If you need any of the supplies you have seen today they can be picked up in my Online Store by clicking on the items in the Shopping List below.

Teepee Card Tutorial Featuring Dressed To Impress Stamp Set

Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am going to share with you a super fun and easy fun fold card that look s impressive but is one of the absolute easiest cards to put together.  This is also the last project for my 25 Days of Christmas Holiday Project Series this year. I was so surprised how easy this card was to put together.  I saw this card last week at a demonstrator event, and got one as part of a card swap.  I loved it so much I had to come home and try it.  This was such a fun card that I had to share it with you as well.  For my card I used some Holiday Catalog Products as well as some new products from the upcoming January-June Mini Catalog (which used to be the Occasions Catalog).  I picked the Dressed To Impress Stamp Set (available January 3, 2020) to showcase on my card today.  Here's a look at my card using this super fun and easy Teepee Fold (or Pyramid Card).

 Tips & Tricks:

This card uses just a few supplies to make.  Three pieces of square cardstock for the base, a piece or two of designer series paper and whisper white.  Once you pick out the colors of the cardstock you are going to use; it's then time to do a little scoring and a little stamping.  I picked Old Olive as my card base.  I used the Best Dressed Designer Series Paper and a piece of Whisper White.  You are going to take the three pieces of cardstock and score them from point to point.  The DSP and whisper white are cut down the middle from point to point.
After you get everything cut and scored it's time to put the card together.  I found it easier to line up the square on the grid paper to put the card togher.  You will line up the other two pieces of cardstock up against the score line in the middle.  Just slightly off the score line just a little bit.  The best way to think of it is to line up point to point.  When adding the glue, you will only add glue to the top of the folded triangle.  Just one one side.  Just a little tip make sure that you work the score lines a couple times to make them fold up easier.
After I got the card put together I stamped one of the images from the Tags, Tags, Tags Stamp Set and colored it with my Stampin' Write Markers in Real Red, Crushed Curry, and Old Olive).  I then cut it out with the matching dies and added it to one side.  I then stamped the high heel from the Dressed to Impress stamp set and colored it with the Real Red stampin' write marker.
I added the whisper white to the inside and one to the back so that I had room for a sentiment and room for writing a message.
To keep the car together you can use either little magnets or velcro dots.

Think Outside the Box for your Cards

Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am going to share a fun card with you that is a little different than normal.  I saw this layout on a Facebook group I am in by another demonstrator and I am sorry but I don't remember her name.  But, to whomever the demonstrator was thank you, I loved your card design.  So I CASEd (Copy and Selectively Edit or Copy and Share Everything) this card from her.  I changed up my paper and stamp set but used her card design because it was so different.  Here's a look at my card for today.

I thought this was such a fun way to think outside the box when creating a card that I had to try it.  I know you're probably thinking "What's so different than a normal card!" or "It looks like a regular card to me."  Well that's where the interesting part comes in.  Yes, It does look like a standard card, but it has a little twist to it.  Instead of the entire card card opening up, only the center part opens.  You did read that correctly, and I am sure your still thinking yeah, so dose a regular card.  Well, that would be true, but this little gem isn't quite like that.  It takes the standard card or I should say standard looking card up a notch.  Here's what I mean.

With the card opening with the smaller card on the front we have elevated our standard card to the fun fold level.  With super easy and little effort I should add.  Sometimes when you think outside the standard box and do one little thing just a little different you're taking that same card up a little bit.  As the demonstrator did with her card layout; just by the one little change she made it changed the entire card and added a little surprise and delight to the recipient.  Who would have expected that the card was a card on a card.  Not me when I first saw it but once I did I was like all the light bulbs in the world light up!  I was like omg that is so smart and cool.
As you can tell I really liked this card layout and I am sure that I will use it again soon on another card.  I liked it so much that I created the little card recipe for you to pin.  Well, that's my card for today, I hope that you liked it as much as I did.  If you need any of the supplies I used to create today's card you can find them all in my online store.  The Shopping List below has the full list of supplies that I used.  Thanks for dropping by today, I will see you again tomorrow for another Episode of Rick's Saturday Simple Stamping.  So until then Happy Stampin'
