My Free As A Bird In Color Card

Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am going to share with you the card that I made to send out in my Catalog packages, for all my customers that shopped with me in the last six months.  I wanted to use the new In Colors and wanted to use a fresh summery stamp set.  Free as A Bird fit the bill as a fun summery new stamp set that would be fun to use.  Here's a look at my card.

Each card that I sent out was slightly different.  I cut strips of all the new 2019-2021 In Colors cardstock in various width strips.  The 2" strip I had actually cut earlier for my book makes that I made to send with them as well, but I had a lot of left overs.  So they were perfect to use for these cards.  I was drawn to these colors when I saw them in the catalog because they were so different then anything we have had.  I still wasn't actually sure if I would get them until I actually saw them in person.  My personal favorite is Terracotta Tile, it is very close to the Pantone Color of the year this year Lovely Coral.
Each strip was adhered down with multipurpose liquid glue.  This gave me a little time to move things in line.  I used the lines on my grid paper to help line everything up.  Once I had all the strips down I used a guillotine cutter and trimmed off the overhang.  I wanted them to see the new in colors, because I knew they would have the same reaction as I did when I first saw them in the catalog; and knew this was the best way for them to do so.  It didn't take to long to put together and I think it came out with a really nice look.  This was my sample card that I made to figure things out.  Here's a look at one of the other cards I made with a different color arrangement.

Out of all the catalogs I sent out this time I had one returned, because the post office when I mailed it and they printed the label forgot to put the apartment number on the label.  So I will have to pop her card and bookmark in the mail to here.  I already sent her a new catalog, but wasn't thinking about anything else and forgot to send her one.  I was more concerned about the catalog and why it was coming back because I knew the address label I printed was correct.  But, its okay I will just pop her little goodies in the mail and get them to her.  That was a little side tangent let's get back to the card shall we.
Free As A Bird and the products in the Bird Ballad Suite are my featured products this week and you will be seeing a lot of different projects with them this week.  I have tried to showcase all the products for you to see just how wonderful they are.  I know it's hard to see that in the catalog sometimes but Stampin' Up! has done a great job this year with the new catalog layout and how things are arranged and shown.  If you are interested in the new In Colors and want to have them all but can not get them all at one time, why not join my In Color Club, where you can collect them all over the next five months.  You can read more about that here.

The Free As a Bird Stamp Set has some super fun images that can be used not just the summer months, they actually can be used all year long.  I love the mixed fonts that Stampin' Up! used in the stamp set for the sentiments.  Some of the sentiment is a little more bold than the other part of it which makes for a nice little change in appearance on your projects.  The line art images are perfect for your favorite coloring media.  I chose to just stamp this bird image on all my cards and not color them.  But I did color them on other projects that I have done with this set.  For this month's Creative Stampers Tutorial Bundles the design team decided to focus on this suite of projects.  And let me just say that there are some very cute and fun projects in this month's bundle.  I am so impressed each month with the creativity they come up with.  You can get the tutorial bundle two different ways.  You can either earn it free with a purchase (using the monthly host code) or you can purchase the tutorial bundle for $20 USD from me.

Here's a last look at my card for today.  I will be back later today with another post for Kylie's Bertucci's Demonstrator Training Program Blog Hop.

If you are interested in any of these products you can find them below in the Stampin' Up! shopping list.  Thanks for dropping by today, I hope that you have a wonderful day and I will see you again soon.

Simple Stamping Episode 22: Featuring the Daisy Lane Stamp Set

Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am sharing another simple stamping card and video for you.  I used the Daisy Lane Stamp Set for my images.  Simple Stamping is geared toward the person that has never stamped before or the person just starting out.  And I am super happy to share these types of cards with you.  I remember the feeling I had when I first put ink to paper and the image appeared.  I never thought that a stamp with all those tiny little groves and gouges when inked would create such beautiful images.  So, I am happy and excited to help you learn the art and joy of stamping.  Here's a look at today's simple stamped card.

I did you the Daisy Lane Stamp Set on my card as I mentioned but I also used one of the new 2019 2021 In Colors today.  I used Terracotta Tile as one of my colors, it has a rich warm color that's just a little darker than Calypso Coral.  Terracotta Tile is very close to the Pantone Color of the year this year Living Coral.  I pared Terracotta Tile with Coastal Cabana and Garden Green.
I like sharing the technique I did today with new stampers because you learn that you don't have to have a lot of supplies to create a beautiful card, and you learn how to create your own Designer Series Paper.  Which is a great skill to know.

Video Tutorial:

If you are viewing this post by email you will need to click on the image below to view the video.
After stamping the images as I did in the video.  It was time to put the card together.  I trimmed down the Whisper White stamped image down to 4 x 5 1/4.  I saved the little piece of cardstock that I trimmed off to use for the inside of my card.  I added the Stamped image to a piece of Coastal Cabana cardstock cut at 5 3/8 x 4 1/8.  My card base is a piece of Terracotta Tile cut in half and scored at 5 1/2.  So, it's 4 1/4 x 11 scored at 5 1/2.
I hope that you are enjoying this Simple Stamping Series and that if you have never stamped before but have been thinking about it.  I hope that these videos and post help you make the decision to give it a try. It will change your life, I know that it sounds strange, but it has changed mine and I know it will you too.

Encouragement Card featuring the Daisy Lane Stamp Set by Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my YouTube Channel and blog; today I am going to share with you my Encouragement card that I created during my Facebook Live on Tuesday 6/4/19 using the New Daisy Lane Cling Stamp Set from the 2019 - 2020 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog.  This card is the feminine version of the design that I shared with you on Tuesday.  If you missed that video you can view it here.  Here's a look at my card for today.

I took the same design as I did on Tuesday's card but changed the orientation from Landscape to portrait.  I changed a few colors, but basically kept everything else the same.  With these few changes you can see has totally changed the look.
I adore this color combo!  I would have never thought that Purple Posy, Soft Sea foam, and Grapefruit Grove would create such a beautifully colorful card.  I stamped the fern in Soft Sea foam on a piece of whisper white cardstock that was cut at 3 3/4 x 5.  Then used a Soft Sea foam mat (4 x 5 1/4) to frame the image.  I placed it on a Purple Posy card base that was cut at 4 1/4 x 11 scored at 5 1/2.  The sentiment was placed on a 1 1/8 x 3 3/4 piece of Purple Posy cardstock, and popped up with just a few Stampin' Dimensionals (lol).

So which version do you like the best?  Are you more fond of this version of the card or do you like the masculine version?  I am much more fond of the color combo in today's card, but I love bright cheerful colors.

Thanks for dropping by today, I hope that you are enjoying all these different card designs featuring the same stamp set this week.  You will find a full list of supplies that I used on today's card in the Stampin' Up! Shopping List below.  Don't forget about my Slizzin' Summer Promotion going on till the end of August.  You can click here to learn more about it.
