Tags & Feathers Elements 12 Days of Fall

Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am going to share with you a card I made today using the Tags & Feather Elements (#150455) from page 47 of the Holiday Catalog.  This card is also part of my 12 Days of Fall mini series that's going on right now.  I wanted to share with you 12 Fall themed projects to help celebrate the changing of the seasons.  Fall is one of my favorite times of the year, I love when the air gets a little crisper and the leaves start to do their rich  brilliant beautiful color changing dance.  Here's a look at today's project.

The Tags & Feather Elements play a key roll in my card today.  These beautiful little wood elements help to add a touch of the out doors to my card.  The Tags & Feathers Elements are wood accents with a light whitewashed finish on one side and natural wood on the other. The Tags have holes for thread or ribbon which you can see I took advantage of today on my card.

I actually turned the little wood tag over to the natural side of the wood element and stamped my sentiment directly on it using Soft Suede Ink.  My sentiment came from the Gather Together Stamp Set (#150589).  This gave me a look of faux wood burning which was a very nice happy little accident.  I did try another one stamping on the white side but the ink and the coating on that side didn't like to play nicely together.  So my recommendation would be to stamp on the natural side and make your life easier.
After stamping my wood element I started working on my card front.  I wanted to keep it simple and let the wood element and the Come to Gather Designer Series Paper be the stars of this card today.  My card base is a piece of Blackberry Bliss Cardstock (133675) cut at 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4 to make a side folding A2 size card.  I then added a very thing piece of Whisper White Cardstock (#100730) as a mat which was cut at 5 3/8 x 4 1/8 and my main piece of the Come to Gather Designer Series Paper (150662) was cut at 4 x 5 1/4".  To accent the wood tag I used another strip of the designer series paper; I just picked one that would match and it was cut at 1" x 3 3/4 and I trimmed off one of the ends.  I also added some of the ribbon and linen thread from the Come to Gather Ribbon Combo Pack (#150456).  The ribbon I added with a little Tear & Tape (#138995) and cut the end to match the little strip of designer series paper.  The Cajun Craze Linen Thread I tied in a double bow and attached with a Mini Glue Dot (#103683).  Which is also what I used to attach the tag element.
.
And that finished off my card.  Thanks for dropping by today, I hope that you have a wonderful day, and I will see you again tomorrow.  You can find all the elements that I used to create this card in my online store.  If you would like to purchase any of these items you can do so by clicking on the item in my Stampin' Up! Blogging Friends Blog Hop: Septembers Theme was FALL

Hello and welcome to my blog and this month's Blogging Friends Blog Hop.  This Month our theme was FALL.  The official first day of Fall is only a few weeks away and it was the perfect time to kick it off with all types of projects with the wonderful colors of and the feel of cool crisp harvest air.  I picked the Gather Together Stamp Set () from the 2019 Holiday Catalog (which is now live) for my project today.  Here's a look at my card.

Tips & Tricks:

I used the large leaf from the Stamp set and stamped it three times in the following colors on Whisper White Cardstock (); Cajun Craze Classic Ink (), Pear Pizzazz Classic Ink (), and Merry Merlot Classic Stampin' Pad ().  Then I used the matching die from the Gather Leaves Dies and cut them out.   My sentiment is on a piece of Whisper White cardstock stamped in Merry Merlot ink.
I created my card base with a piece of Pear Pizzazz Cardstock () cut at 4 1/4 x 11 scored at 5 1/2.  Then I placed a piece of the Come to Gather Designer Series Paper () onto a piece of Merry Merlot Cardstock () cut at 5 3/8 x 4 1/8.  The Come to Gather Designer Series Paper (4 x 5 1/4) I picked the plaid pattern with all the fun colors.  I adore this little pattern in this pack of designer series paper and think that it could be used for so many different types of projects.  Once I had everything ready to go it was time to start layering it all together.

After I had the designer series paper mounted on the card base I added the sentiment onto the card base with a few Stampin' Dimensionals ().  Once I had it in place it was time to arrange the leaves that I had stamped and cut out before hand.  I started out with the Cajun Craze leaf and applied it with a little Multipurpose Liquid Glue () tucking it a little under the sentiment piece.  I then added the Merry Merlot leaf in the same manner.  I then attached the Pear Pizzazz leaf with a little liquid glue and a couple dimensionals.

That finished off my card and it was ready to go with the addition of a piece of Whisper White Cardstock.  Thanks for dropping by today, if you need any of the supplies you have seen today you can pick them up in my online store by clicking on the item in my Stampin' Up! Season of Thanks & Last Day to Signup for my Paper Shares

Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am going to share with you today is the last day to sign up and pay for my Holiday Product Shares.  You can do so by clicking here to register!  The Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog goes live tomorrow are you excited to be able to order all the new holiday goodies?  Over the weekend I did a Holiday Catalog Launch Party to celebrate the catalog going live soon and talked about some of my favorite things during each presentation.  Today's card is one of the samples that I shared during the Live Presentation on Facebook.  I created this Season of Thanks card as one the samples for the Come To Gather Suite in the catalog.  This Suite is our Fall themed suite this year and has some amazing color combinations and some fabulous products in it.  Here's a look at my card.
I used products from both catalogs to create my card; I used the Gather Together Stamp Set (150589).  Which is a photopolymer set and you can get alone or as part of the Gather Together Cost Savings Bundle (153036).  Anytime you order one of the bundles from Stampin' Up! you're saving 10% off the price of the products.  I started out by picking which piece of designer series paper I wanted to use and from that is where I picked my colors.  I picked to use Pretty Peacock as the main color of my card and picked Crushed Curry as the supporting color. Even with it not being in this piece of designer series paper it works so well with the colors.  One of my inspirations for this color combinations also came from the August Paper Pumpkin kit.  That kit contained fall themed projects and had these two colors in them.
Once I had the designer series paper picked and the colors it was time to start building the card.  I picked Crushed Curry as my card base.  I know some of you out there are not a fan of Crushed Curry, but it's an absolute show stopper of a color when paired with Pretty Peacock.  The rich golden hue becomes even more striking when you put it up against the dark lush teal of the Pretty Peacock.  I mean really if you think about it they probably play so well together because you can find a color similar to Crushed Curry in an actual peacock feather.

So once the card base was created it was time to dress it up.  I cut my designer series paper in half and then used a scrap of Pretty Peacock cut to the same size and ran it through my die cutting/embossing machine with the Hammered Metal 3D Embossing Folder (150646) also in the Holiday Catalog.  This folder adds so much texture to your projects that it's amazing.  I have a video coming out later on where I played with it and the new Delciata inks and the look was a show stopper.  I can't wait to share that with you.
I added both those cut pieces to a Pretty Peacock mat.  To cover the seam I used the Crushed Curry 3/8" Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon (149444) from the Annual Catalog.  I wrapped it around the mat and secured it on the back and then tied a nice pretty bow on the front.  It was then time to add my sentiment and focal image, as if I needed anything else to draw attention to this card.  But, it did need a sentiment so I stamped my greeting and one of the pumpkins from the stamp set in Pretty Peacock Classic ink (#150083) on a large stitched oval and added it with a few Stampin' Dimensionals (104430).  And, that finished off my card.  I've gotten where I don't like to have a lot of embellishments on my cards, I really want the focal images and colors to stand out.  Now, don't get me wrong I will add one if I think it needs it, but with this card I wanted all the textures from the crinkled ribbon, embossed cardstock, stitched oval and the texture in the designer series paper to really stand out.  I think that by adding all these different textural elements has created a beautifully textured card.
As I mentioned before all the products in this suite will be available when the catalog goes live tomorrow.  Here's a little video from my Catalog launch for you to view if you missed it on Saturday.  I also will be doing a virtual walk through of the catalog tomorrow night during my Facebook Live at 8 pm CST and I will share with you my top 10 horde worthy picks from it.
