Favorite Embossing Technique - Global Video Hop

Hello and welcome to my blog today I am going to share with you my favorite Embossing Technique for the Global Stampin Video Blog Hop and Festive Friday Post.  I used the Snowman Season Stamp Set which carried over along with the matching punch from last years Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog.  Here's a look at my card.

Tips & Tricks:

I started my card with a top folding Whisper White card base made from Thick Whisper White Cardstock.  I attached a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of Heartwarming Hugs Designer Series Paper to the front of my card base.  I then stamped the snowman image from the Snowman Season Stamp Set onto a piece of Whisper White Cardstock in Tuxedo Black Ink.  I stamped in Tuxedo Black Ink because I knew I had to do a little Stampin' Blends Coloring.

White images are not just white there is a little color in white images they are just very pale shades.  That's why I used the Seaside Spray Stampin' Blends and the Color Lifter to add the shadows into my image.  Typically whites reflect whatever color is around them into the shadows.  So there could be a ton of different shades reflected into a white object.  As you can see above I just added the color into the shadow areas.  A white image without any color at all is extremely boring.  The rest of the image was just some very basic coloring not a lot of blending with the other colors.  Which I pulled from my Designer Series Paper.  I used Mossy Meadow and Real Red for the other coloring on the Snowman.

My favorite embossing technique to do that packs so much interest onto a project but is super easy and often overlooked is to take Metallic Cardstock and run through my Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine with embossing folders.  Today I used the Wrapped in Texture Embossing Folders to get the beautiful texture you see on my card, which adds so much added interest to the card.  The Wrapped In Texture Embossing Folders come in a set of two small embossing folders and can be used in the large Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine or the Mini Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine.  If you see the Mini Symbol listed in the catalog or on the website that means you can use it on both machines.  If you don't see the symbol then the dies are to big to use in the mini but still can be used in the large.

A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop - World's Greatest

Hello and welcome to this month's A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop; Each month we share alternative projects for the current Paper Pumpkin Kit.  I created a card and a box using additional products and one of the card bases from this month's kit.  Here's a look at my card for this month.

For my card this month I cut a piece of Pacific Point Cardstock to 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" and scored it at 4 1/4".  I then took one of the card bases from the kit and cut off 3" x 5 1/2" piece and attached it to my card base.  I then cut a then strip of Daffodil Delight Cardstock and added it the seam of the card base and the card.  I stamped three of the ribbons from this month's World's Greatest Stamp Set in Granny Apple Green, Pacific Point, and Daffodil Delight onto a piece of Whisper White Cardstock.  I used my Paper Snips and cut each one out.  I attached them to the card with either Stampin' Seal or Stampin' Dimensionals.

I took the rest of the card base and scored it every 1 1/4" on the long side and on the short side as well.  I then folded all the score line and added the Daffodil Delight Ribbon and tied it into a bow.  I stamped the one of the sentiment on one of the circles from the kit and added it to the foil scalloped circle.  It's a super simple but cute little box.

Thanks for dropping by today I hope that you have a wonderful day.  Make sure to hop along the blog hop and check out all the wonderful projects.  If you are viewing this post by email you may have to click here to view the blog roll.

August 2020 Paper Pumpkin Unboxing

Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am going to share with you the August 2020 Paper Pumpkin Kit.  When I got my kit in last week I put one of each card together on my weekly Facebook Live.  Here's a look at the three projects.

I put together each of the cards as close to the directions as I could.  Everyone knows that must of us don't always don't follow the directions as can be, but I tried my hardest to make sure I did this month.  Here's a closer look at the all three cards that I made using this month's kit.
