It Starts With Art Fun Fold Video Tutorial

Hello and welcome to my blog; today I have a fun fold card to share with you using the It Starts With Art Stamp Set and matching dies and paper.  Yes, you read that correct I am sharing a fun fold card with you today; so you know it has to be easy or I wouldn't be sharing it!  I was sad to see the Follow Your Art Suite on the Last Chance List.   If you have not seen the last chance list of items still available I have added a link in this post.  I need to mention that some items such as the Art & Craft Dies which I used today are heavily discounted.  Now with that out of the way here's a look at my card.  Or I should say cards I made two.

Tips & Tricks:

So as I mentioned you know this can not be a very hard card to do or have to many steps because you wouldn't be seeing it here otherwise.  It really is very simple to create, and the Follow Your Art Designer Series Paper and It Starts with Art Stamp Set makes this a very pretty card.  All you need to create this fun fold is a set of layering dies, you can use any shape you want, some cardstock, stamp set, ink, and matching designer series paper.  Here's a look at the card folded out.

I told you it was cute.  I went with the Layering Square Dies for one card and the Layering Circles for the other.  I wanted to show you a couple options, and how changing the layering dies can change the look of the card.  Let's have a look at the card with the square opening first.

I really can not decided if I like the square window or the circle window the best.  Which do you like?  I used the same products on both cards I just changed the colors, used different stamped images in the windows, and changed up the shape of the openings.  I just did a little simple stampin' blends coloring to color the images in the window.  You will need a card base that's 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4 for the card base.  Attach your designer series paper to the card base.  Die cut your window. Then the fold out is a piece of whisper white cardstock cut at 5 1/4 x 8 scored at 4" & 6".

I folded the two score lines into a mountain and valley fold.  I then attached the Whisper White piece to the inside of the card, lined up my window element on the fold and attached it.  I added a frame to the opening by taking the largest scalloped circle die and the third largest and cutting them out.  This was attached with liquid glue to the front.  I added a stamped sentiment to the outside that I used the Tailored Tag Punch to flag the ends with and popped it up on dimensionals.  The sentiment on the inside I just stamped with the coordinating ink colors.

To finish off my card I added some of the Glitter Enamel Dots to the card front.  Thanks for dropping by today; you will find a full list of the supplies minus the glitter dots because I forgot to add them to the list below.

Super Easy Masculine Card for Father's Day

Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am going to share with you another one of the cards I received as part of the CASE the Catalog Swap I did back in November.  Dana Hobby made this card but I thought she did a great job casing it.  If you are not sure what I am talking about when I say CASE.  Well, it just means to copy and share everything, or to copy and selectively edit; depending on who you are talking to.  This card features products from the Country Club Suite from the January - June Mini Catalog.  Most of the items in this suite are on the Last Chance List.  So it's a grab them while they last type of thing.  Anyway here's a look at today's card.

I love the combination of the argyle pattern in the Country Club Designer Series Paper.  The fun pattern plays nicely with the golf theme of this suite of products.  I don't know why but golfers wear some very bright colors and fun patterns that they may not wear any other time.  So this fun play on the patterns adds a fun touch to this card.  Hit a hole in one with clubhouse-themed paper from the Country Club Designer Series Paper. This high-quality printed paper is excellent scrapbook paper, card making paper, and more. Pack includes various golf-themed images, prints, and patterns. It’s a great choice for masculine cards and projects.

This stamp and die set along with the other products in this suite make a great Father's Day card, or any masculine card you would like to make.  If you don't like the golf theme of one side of the designer series paper you can use the pattern on the other side, that's a little more generic.  You all know that I love Crumb Cake anyway so any card that has it I am all up on it.

Sizes & Dimensions:

  • Crumb Cake Cardstock - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 (cardbase scored at 4 1/4), 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 (sentiment)
  • Garden Green Cardstock - 3 x 5 1/2 (Background), 1 3/4 x 1 3/4 (greenery)
  • Crushed Curry Cardstock - 2 1/4 x 1/4
  • Whisper White Cardstock - 3 3/4 x 2 1/2 (nested label), 4 x 5 1/2 (inside), 1 5/8 x 5/8 (banner)
  • Country Club Designer Series Paper - 3 3/8 x 5 1/8

Thanks for dropping by today!  I hope that you have a wonderful weekend, if you need any of these supplies you have seen today please order them before they are all sold out.  Everything from the Country Club Suite besides the Argyle 3D Embossing Folder is on the Last Chance List so they are only while supplies last.  The Clubhouse Stamp Set will be guaranteed to be in stock until May 22.

May Blogging Friends Blog Hop - Favorite Retiring Products

Hello and welcome to my blog; today is the first day of May and it's the first Friday of the month! So, that means it's time for this month's Blogging Friends Blog Hop.  This month our theme was showcase your favorite retiring products.  I picked the Capture the Good Stamp Set to showcase today.  I am sad that this stamp set is retiring I think it's super cute.  Here's a look at my card.

I started my card by stamping the cameras onto a piece of whisper white cardstock that I cut down to 3 3/4 x 5.  I stamped in Blushing Bride, Old Olive Gorgeous Grape.  I stamped my main camera in Lovely Lipstick and cut it out with my paper snips.  I then stamped the shutter and the oh snap in the same color.  I cut out the oh snap with the smallest stitched circle.  I cut out a scallop circle with the layering circle dies.  I popped the shutter up on the camera with a stampin' dimensional and added the sentiment with one as well.  I added the stamped image onto a piece of Gorgeous Grape 4 x 5 1/4 cardstock.
I added the some of the ribbon from the Botanical Prints Product Medley onto this layer.  I then tied a flat knot to this.  I then added the card front to a Lovely Lipstick card base.  I then finished off the card by adding a few of the Glitter Enamel Dots around the card.  That finishes my card for today.  Have fun hopping along this month.  You will find the blog roll as well as the Video Tutorial below.
