Saturday Sketch - Timeless Tropical

Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am going to share with another card based off of a card sketch.  Card sketches are a great way to jump start your creativity as well as make your creative lives easier.  For this weeks card sketch I came up with a fun little versatile design that can be used for so many different creations.  Here's a look at my card inspired by my card sketch.

I am kicking off a new series on my blog today on using card sketches. Todays card features the Timeless Tropical Stamp Set.

For this sketch I used the Timeless Tropical Stamp Set along with some other fun products in a fun new way.

Aloha Friend - Timeless Tropical plus Wild Roses Background Stamp

Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am feeling very tropical.  So, I created a card using some very tropical items.  I was inspired by some of the pictures that I had been seeing all last week of fellow demonstrators on the Stampin' Up! Incentive Trip to Maui.  Here's a look at my card.

Inspiration for my projects comes from so many places.  But, I found all the pictures of all the tropical flowers that my friends and fellow demonstrators on the Maui trip were sharing of the florals from Maui so inspiring that I had to create a fun tropical floral card.

Timeless Tropical Kraft Pillow Box

Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am going to share with you a quick little idea on how to make a super quick tropical gift for someone.  Well, at least the packaging any way. The Timeless Oasis Suite of products can make for a fun package when paired with the Kraft Pillow Boxes.  I am going to share with you how to decorate the pillow box and how to make a tag for it as well.  Here's a look at my quick and simple little project.

Tips & Tricks:

The kraft pillow boxes are a great tool to have in your stash for quick gift giving ideas that you can decorate.  I am sad that they are leaving but I know we are getting something just a great for gift packaging.  As of this posting of the project they are still available in the last chance list on my website.  I started out my project by stamping the large flower in Daffodil Delight Classic Ink and used the matching die to cut it out.  I also stamped three of the large flowers in Pear Pizzazz Classic Ink and cut them out also.  All the stamping was done on a half sheet of Whisper White cardstock but you could use scraps that matches the sizes you need.

Next I wrapped a 2" x 7" piece of the Tropical Oasis Designer Series Paper around the pillow box and secured it with a little Tear & Tape.  So you could make a lot of these with a little designer series paper.   Once I had everything wrapped I took about 30" or so of the Braided Burlap Ribbon and pulled three of four strands from it.  I wanted a very textural bow that was easy to tie and this was a great solution.  I love the look of the texture from the pieces of the ribbon against the clean lines of the pillow box.

I then started by adding my stamped images to the front of the pillow boxes with Stampin' Dimensionals and Mini Glue Dots.  I then stamped my sentiment and used the Label Me Lovely Punch and punched it out.  But, if you notice the sentiment punch out doesn't look anything like that punch.  Well I used it again and relined up my sentiment piece and punched it out smaller to create a new shape.  I popped this up on Stampin' Dimensionals as well to finish off the pillow box.

Again I am in love with these pillow boxes and very sad that they are on the last chance list.  I think they make perfect gift packaging for last minute gifts or even to pop in a gift card.  If you want to grab some please do so soon before they are gone.  All I can tell you is that they are still listed on the website, but I have no idea how many are available so there's a chance they could sale out any day.  Everything on the last chance list is while supplies last; the stamps are guaranteed to be in stock until May 22, 2020 and they after that they are also while supplies last.

Stampin' Up! Timeless Tropical - Quick Easy Card Tutorial

Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am going to share with you a quick & easy card using the Timeless Tropical Stamp Set from Stampin' Up!.  This card was actually CASED from the January-June Mini Catalog.  If you are not sure what I mean by CASE it means to copy and share everything or to copy and selectively edit.  Its a great way to learn new techniques or to produce a project in a pinch.  But, mainly I use it to learn.  Here's a look at today's card.

Like I said above this is really a quick and easy card to do.  It's perfect to create if you have a birthday coming up for a man, or someone that's in a tropical setting, or even someone you want to make smile.  The fun mix of the Tropical Oasis Designer Series Paper with the Crumb Cake and Soft Suede Palm Trees. The texture added by the Braided Burlap Trim and the Linen Thread just makes me happy.

I stamped my palm trees onto the 2 1/2 x 3 1/4 piece of Crumb Cake Cardstock in Soft Suede Classic Ink and used the matching die from the In The Tropics Dies to cut them out.  I then added the 3 1/4 x 5 1/2 piece of the Tropical Oasis Designer Series Paper to the top part of the Crumb Cake card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  Next I stamped the sentiment in Pretty Peacock Classic Ink onto the 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 piece of Whisper White Cardstock and punched it out with the Label Me Lovely Punch, making sure to line the sentiment up toward the top of the punch.

I then added the small strip of Terracotta Tile Cardstock to the label using a little liquid glue. Next I added a strip of Tear & Tape Adhesive along the seam of the card base and the designer series paper making sure to overlap the DSP just a little.  Then I added some of the Braided Burlap Trim to the front and a wrapped some Linen Thread around the card base and tied it in a bow.  I then popped the sentiment up with Stampin' Dimensionals as well as the palm trees.  For the palm trees I used both regular and mini size dimensionals.

Our Friendship is Timeless - Timeless Tropical Friendship Card

Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am going to share with you a very tropical themed card using products from the Tropical Oasis Suite in the 2020 January-June Mini Catalog.  Add a pop of paradise to your crafting with lush foliage and tropical images. The Tropical Oasis Suite Bundle features retro tropical images and glorious colors to make a statement on your projects. It’s just another day in papercrafting paradise when you use the stamps and dies to create your own dreamy designs. Invoke a touch of the tropics with bronze-finish trinkets including a pineapple, hibiscus, ukulele, and palm leaves. When you’re all done, hold the project to your ear and listen for the waves gently crashing onto the shoreline.  Here's a look at my card using products from this suite.

Tips & Tricks:

I started out by stamping the flowers from the Timeless Tropical Stamp Set in Soft Suede ink on whisper white cardstock.  Once stamped I started coloring the flowers with my Stampin' Blends.  I used Daffodil Delight, Pineapple Punch, and Mango Melody to color the petals.  I used the Mango blends to color in the dark areas indicated by the designer on the stamp, blending it out with the Daffodil Delight Blends, and then blending everything with the Pineapple Punch Blends.  I then stamped and die cut all the different leaves in Old Olive and Mossy Meadow cardstocks.

I also used the Soft Suede Blends to color in the center of the flower.  I ran the Soft Suede and Old Olive pieces of cardstock through the embossing machine with the Coastal Weave 3D Embossing Folder.  I put the embossed Soft Suede piece onto my Old Olive Card base and then matted a piece of the Tropical Oasis Designer Series Paper with Early Espresso.  Then I started the layering process.  I started out my adding the matted DSP onto the card base.  Next I added the embossed piece of Old Olive.  I then added a piece of the Braided Burlap Trim.  I then added the flowers with dimensionals.

Once the flowers were in place I could tuck the leaves behind and add them with a little liquid glue.  I then stamped the sentiment onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock and added it to the front of the card. Next I added a bow I made with some of the thread from the braided trim.  To finish the card off I decided to add a couple of the leaf trinkets from the Annual Catalog.
Thanks for dropping by today, If you need any of these supplies you can order them in my online store 24/7 by clicking on the items in the shopping list below.
