Stampin’ Up! OUTDOOR BARBECUE Simple Masculine Birthday Card

Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am going to share with you another Simple Stamps ink and Paper Card using the Outdoor Barbecue Stamp Set from the 2020 Stampin' Up! January - June Mini Catalog.  This is a super cute masculine themed stamp set that you may have even missed in the catalog.  It's on page 50 of the Mini Catalog.  I actually used two stamp sets to make this card.  I used both Outdoor Barbecue and then I used the Sending You Thoughts Saleabration Stamp Set for the sentiment on the outside.  Here's a look at my card.

I often here "Rick I need masculine card ideas" or "how do you come up with masculine cards" I think a lot of people think just because I am a guy that I can come up with masculine cards easily.  I am just like the rest of you I have to really think about masculine cards, I prefer to make pretty floral cards, those are my go to cards.  Because, I love floral designs and paintings.   You will hear in the video me talk about this a little bit.

Video Tutorial:

You may have to click here to see the video tutorial or on the image below.  Not all mail servers will show the embedded video.

Tips & Tricks:

For my #simplestamping masculine birthday card I started out with my card base.  I picked Crumb Cake Cardstock as my base (I know no surprise there, so the next statement want surprise you either if you follow my blog) cut at 4 1/4 x 11 scored at 5 1/2.  Once I had the cardbase cut I picked the hamburger image from the stamp set to stamp all around the card base in matching Crumb Cake ink.  Once that was done I took at 3 1/4 x 4 1/4 piece of Whisper White Cardstock and stamped the grill in the top center with Smoky Slate ink.  I then stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Sending You Thoughts FREE Saleabration stamp set in Crumb Cake ink below.
For the inside of my card I stamped the hamburger in Crumb Cake ink going up the left hand side of a piece of Whisper White Cardstock cut at 5 1/4 x 4.  I also stamped the sentiment "Holy Smokes It's Your Birthday" from the Outdoor Barbecue Stamp Set in Smoky Slate ink.  This stamp set not only has some smoking hot images but some great witticism sentiments that will make you and the person getting this card laugh.  It's also has a great Father's Day Sentiment and a You're Invited sentiment in the set as well; making it a great addition to your collection.

How to Earn the Sending You Thoughts Stamp Set FREE:

Earning FREE items during Saleabration is super easy!  You are rewarded for shopping; for every $50 you spend you can pick a FREE level one Saleabration Item.  Spend $100 and you can pick a Level 2 Saleabration Item.
I have worked out some math on my project today to help you to know what to buy to earn this stamp set free.  I have done three different options so that you can pick whatever would work with your budget.
  • Option 1: (The I want it all! Size Order)  If you want everything I used today plus ink refills and adhesive refill it would cost you $79.00 plus shipping and taxes!

  • Option 2 (Medium Size Order):  If you have already ordered the ink pads but not the reinkers.  I would suggest you do the following as your order and it could cost you $57.00 (plus shipping and tax).

  • Option 3 (Basic Order)  Say you are just starting out, I would suggest the following as your order during Saleabration to get the FREE Sending You Thoughts Stamp Set.  Which would run about $52.00 (plus shipping and taxes)

Thanks for dropping by today, I hope that this card will help you come up with easy masculine card ideas.  Remember that you can pick up all the supplies you need in my online store 24/7.

Power of Hope Lily Impressions Encouragement Card

Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am going to share with you a card made with two Saleabration Items from the 2020 Sale-a-bration Brochure.  Saleabration is the best time of the year at Stampin' Up!, It's the time of year that you are rewarded for every $50 increment that you purchase before shipping and taxes.  I used the Power of Hope stamp set that's part of the Power of Hope Bundle, and the Lily Impressions Designer Series Paper on my card today.  In my opinion these are the perfect pair to create with.  Here's a look at my card.

The Power of Hope Bundle includes the Power of Hope Cling Stamp Set and Stone 3D Embossing Folder. Pair the stamp set and embossing folder for artistic coordination, or use them separately for even more options. Earn this craft bundle FREE with a qualifying purchase January 3–March 31, 2020, during our Sale-A-Bration promotion!  Impressionistic images in rich colors make the Lily Impressions Designer Series Paper an excellent choice for elegant backgrounds and accents on handmade cards and scrapbook pages. Earn this beautiful paper FREE with a qualifying purchase January 3–March 31, 2020, during our Sale-A-Bration promotion!
I picked the colors of my cards from the Lily Impressions Designer Series Paper.  There are a ton of wonderful colors in this pack of paper.  One of the great things about Stampin' Up!'s designer series paper is that you can then use the colors in it to add the coordinating cardstock, ink and embellishments to your projects without fear that they may not match as with some other companies products.  Stampin' Up! is known for their color coordination so you can play with everything that's offered in our catalogs and know without a doubt that they will match.  This was a big reason that I decided to join as a demonstrator almost five years ago.
After cutting my designer series paper down to 5 1/4 x 4 I needed to put a layering piece behind it.  For my layers on my original card I picked Coastal Cabana.  I cut one layer at 4 1/8 x 5 3/8, and cut my scalloped square from a scrap piece using the Layering Square Dies.  I also cut a stitched square from Whisper White Cardstock to stamp on.
I repeated these same process for the card that I made in the video but changed up the color and the pattern of the Designer Series Paper.  For the second card I used Grapefruit Grove.  The stamping was all done the same.  I added the Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding to the card front to add a little more texture.
On the inside of each card I stamped the geisha from the Power of Hope stamp set in the inside as soon as you open the side folding card.  I stamped her in Grapefruit Grove on both cards.  You can see a little peak of her on the inside with this photo.
