Beautiful Autumn Gift Set

Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am sharing with you that projects that I made last night during my Facebook Live.  Last night I did viewers choice where they got to pick some of the items that we used and what we created.  I love doing Viewer Choice Lives because they are fun and sometimes really stretches your creativity.  But I will tell you they are normally a little longer video because it takes a little time for the responses to come in which never disappoints.  Here's a look at the two projects I made.

Last night I started off my letting them decided if we would make a box or a card.  The numbers were pretty close so I did both.  After I knew what we where going to make I then let them pick the theme of the projects and everyone picked a Fall themed project.  So, after the theme I then pulled a few Fall themed sets and let them picked which one we would work with.  The Beautiful Autumn Stamp Set one out so it was time to start creating.

So I started out with making the box and I showed my process of making a box for a certain item.  When I do this one of the first things that I do is I pull my Simply Score Scoring Tool out and I measure the item for the box.  I measure it on there because it helps me judge the size that I need.  I measure the width, height and thickness.  I also usually use a piece of cheap cardstock to start out but I didn't have any last night so I just did it with my Early Espresso Cardstock.  And had to go back and do it again because I had put one of the score lines in the wrong place.  Which was fine because I used the piece I messed up for the Circle Punches.

My treat holder holds a Russel Stovers Pumpkin.  So it's prefect for Thanksgiving, Fall,or Halloween gift giving.  If I were giving it for Halloween I would change up the colors and designer series paper to something a little more spooky.

To finish off the box I used the Basket Weave and Metallic Ribbon Combo Pack for my closure and stamped the sentiment on a piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock.  I also stamped the small leaves and acorn from the Beautiful Autumn Stamp Set and punched them out with the matching Autumn Punch Pack.  I added some of the Gilded Autumn Speciality Designer Series Paper to the front and back of the box before tying my ribbon into place, and adding the sentiment with Stampin' Dimensionals and the small leaves and acorn with Mini Glue Dots.

For my card I used some of the same elements and design.  Instead of an Early Espresso card base I used Cajun Craze cut at 4 1/4" x 11".  I added the matching Gilded Autumn Speciality Designer Series Paper to a Crumb Cake Mat just like the box.  But I then added a second layer of DSP and a Early Espresso Mat.  I flipped the DSP to the other side and used it on this layer.

I used the same leaves and acorn from the Beautiful Autumn Stamp Set on the front as I did the box.  And stamped the sentiment and punched it out the same way.  This helps tie the two projects together and makes the perfect little Beautiful Autumn Gift Set.  For the inside of the card I added a piece of Very Vanilla and a small strip of the matching Gilded Autumn Specialty Designer Series Paper.

OSAT Blog Hop - You've Got This

Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am taking part in the One Stamp At A Time (OSAT) Blog Hop.  This month's theme is all about encouragement.  I picked the Queens Anne's Lace Stamp Set to create both my projects.  I created a card and a little box.  The box that I created was done with one of the Flowers For Every Season Memory & More Note Cards.  Here's a look at my card.

All this week I have just been using supplies that are in the suggested Starter Kit from Stampin' Up!, along with the supplies in the Get & Go Joining Special.  The Queen Anne's Lace Stamp Set is part of this special.   It's actually one of the stamp sets you get for free during September.  Since I have only allowed myself the supplies in the Suggested Starter Kit to use this week, I used a piece of Whisper White Cardstock as my card base.  I cut down one of the Flowers for Every Season Memory & More Note Cards to server as my card front.

I cut down another piece of Whisper White Cardstock to 3" x 4" and stamped the Queen Anne's Lace image from the stamp set in Just Jade and Bumblebee Inks.  I added a Best Wishes sentiment to the front of the card.  This will allow me to write whatever encouraging message I need to on the inside of the card.  I added the stamped image to the card front with a few Stampin' Dimensionals.  And finished off my card with a few Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

For my 3D project this month I used another one of the Flowers For Every Season Memory & More Note Cards and created a super cute little box.  Yes, I said I used one of the note cards to create a box.  Here's how my box turned out.

After all the scoring, cutting, and folding was complete.  I stamped the same image I used on my card all over a piece of Whisper White Cardstock in the same two colors to create my own designer series paper to decorate my little box.  I stamped the same sentiment on a strip of Whisper White, that actually came from a cut off of the handmade DSP, and added it to the front with Stampin' Dimensionals.  I added a few rhinestones and wrapped some of the Cinnamon Cider In Color Ribbon around it and tied the ribbon into a nice bow.

Here's a little video I made to show you how to transform the Flowers for Every Season Memory & More Note Card into a box.  If you are viewing this post by email you may have to click here to see the video.

Jar of Flowers Gatefold Card The Spot Challenge #127

Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am going to share with you my card for this week's challenge over at the Spot.  This is my second day of only using supplies that are in the Suggested Starter Kit and with the Get & Go Joining Special.  This week's challenge at the Spot is all about Fun Folds.  I used the Jar of Flower Bundle and the Four Season Floral Stamp Set on my card today.  Here's a look at my card.

I started my card wondering how was I going to make a fun fold card with just the little supplies have given myself to work with this week.  Since I was not allowing myself the full pantry of my creative supplies just how was I going to pull this off.  I was only allowed the supplies in my box, I wasn't allowing myself to pull more stamp sets, cardstock, inks or embellishments.  The whole reason I wanted to do this this week was to show others that may not have a lot of supplies that you can create beautiful cards with very little.  It's was all in how you used it.

So, once I got over the hurdle and was sprinting towards the finish line I knew that I would be able to create whatever I wanted using just what I had preselected on my studio day Friday.

I plundered through my chosen box of supplies like a pirate taking over a ship while at sea, and found the supplies that I wanted to use.  Once the looting was complete it was time to move on the creating.  I grabbed my Bumblebee Ink Pad and the sunflower image from the Jar of Flowers stamp set along with some Whisper White Cardstock and started making my own DSP (Designer Series Paper).  This was something that I loved to do when I first started this journey five years ago.  So, it was natural to go back to this with just the few supplies a had allowed myself to create with this week.

The best tip I can give you when you are creating this way is to go for it and have fun.  Make sure when you are stamping your own DSP that you rotate and move the stamp in different directions each time you add the luxurious ink to paper.  This will create a more interesting design and all the stamped images to fit onto the cardstock so much better.  This is also a way to have visual interest for you card when you are doing repetitive stamping.

Once I had both pieces of my Whisper White cardstock stamped it was time to add them to the card base.  I took both ends of my Coastal Cabana Cardstock and folded them in towards the middle.  Then I used my bone folder to give each side a nice crisp fold.  Once that was done I added my handmade designer series paper to each side of the gate fold.

I then took a piece of the Daffodil Delight Cardstock and added it to one side of the gate fold with Stampin' Dimensionals.  I stamped my sentiment in Bumblebee Ink at the bottom of a small piece of Whisper White cardstock and added it to the Daffodil Delight piece.  By the way the sentiment came from the Four Season Flowers that set that I used yesterday.  If you missed that card and want to check it out I will link it here.  I then stamped the mason jar from the Jar of Flowers Stamp Set onto another scrap of Whisper White in Just Jade Ink.  I took the smaller image from the stamp set and stamped the outline of the water.  I then cleaned this stamp and flipped it over and stamped the water. Making sure to stamp off once to get a lighter color in the same Just Jade color.  The Jar of Flowers stamp set is a Reversible Stamp Set meaning that most of the images can be stamped on both sides.

I then punched out the jar with the matching Jar Punch and added it to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.  I stamped the sunflowers onto another scrap of Whisper White Cardstock In Bumblebee Ink and used a blender pen to add a little color.  I took my paper snips and cut it out and added it to the card front to make it look like the flowers where coming out of the jar.  I finished off the front with a few Basic Rhinestones.

I then cut another piece of Whisper White Cardstock to 4" x 5 1/4" and stamped the same sunflower image that I used for the entire card in the top right and bottom left corners.  I then added this to the inside of the card with Stampin' Seal Adhesive.

Here is the inspiration image for this week's challenge.  If you want to check out what the other design team members came up with you can click here to do that and to play along.  Thanks for dropping by today:  I hope that you have wonderful day and if you need any of the supplies you can get them in my online store or by adding them to your Starter Kit when you join my team this month.
