Get Well Soon - The Spot Color Challenge #161

Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am going to share with you a card that I made for this weeks creative challenge over at the spot using a fun inking and die cut inlaid technique.  I used the Blossoms in Bloom Stamp Set and matching dies to create my card.

Super cute Get Well Soon Card for this weeks Color Challenge over at The Spot Creative Blog Click here to learn more

This is the second time I've started todays blog post.  I made one card using what I thought was the right color combination.  Only to find out once I sat down to write the blog post and got half way through and realized that I used a wrong color. So, last night at 10:30 pm I headed back out to the studio to create a card with the right color combination.

Fall Birthday Card - So Much Happy Bundle

Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am going to share with you a birthday card that's perfect for Fall.  I used the So Happy Bundle to create my card along with this week's color challenge over at the Spot.  Here's a look at my card.

Tips & Tricks:

To create my card I started out with my Crumb Cake Card base.  My base was cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" and I used it to create a top folding card.  I used the Happy Dies from the So Much Happy Bundle to cut the word window in my card base.  I also used this same die to cut out the same thing in a piece of Merry Merlot Designer Series Paper.  I then layered the two together using Multipurpose Liquid Glue and trimmed off the excess.  This allowed for the colorful "happy" in the center of the window.

Next I cut a few strips of Bumblebee, Very Vanilla, and the Gold Brushed Metallic Cardstock to add to my card.  I cut them with my Paper Trimmer at different widths.  I added the Bumblebee Cardstock strips first right next to the word die cut window and followed the line that the die created.  I then added the Brushed Metallic Cardstock strip.  And at the bottom I added the Very Vanilla Cardstock strip.  Once the Very Vanilla was in place I could stamp my birthday sentiment in Crumb Cake Ink.

I then flipped my card base over and cut the strips to size with my Paper Snips.  Because the card needed just a little something extra I then took some scraps of Merry Merlot, Crumb Cake, and Bumblebee Cardstocks and the Gather Leaves Dies (I used the three small leaf dies from the set) and placed them on my ink pads in the coordinating colors before placing them on the cardstock.  I pressed them down just a little bit with my finger.  I then removed them from the ink pad and placed them on my cardstock scraps very carefully making sure that they didn't move.  These dies not only cut the outline but they emboss the inside of each leaf as well.  So when you add ink to the die you get a darker impression on the inside embossed areas making them stand out more.  Not to mention more dimension.

Once the inked dies where in place on my cardstock scraps I placed each of them in my Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine on the Magnetic Plate and ran them through.  I placed them on my card front once cut out.  Some I just placed on the card with Multipurpose Liquid Glue and some I used a Stampin' Dimensional behind to add more left.  But I placed all three where there would hang slightly over the window opening.  Now I have the perfect little Fall themed birthday card to send out to a friend.

Believe You Can Host Set Sneak Peek for #PCC334

Hello and welcome to my second post today; this post is for this weeks Paper Craft Crew Challenge.  This week we have a fun color challenge for you.  We are using Poppy Parade, Coastal Cabana, Lemon Lime Twist and a Mystery Color.  So this makes it super fun to play with.  I am giving you a little sneak peek a new Host set that will be coming in the 2019 Annual Catalog.  This is a super fun stamp set, and very encouraging.  Here's a look at my card today.

Here's a look at the color challenge image that inspired my card today.  You can also take a little time and play along with us here as well.  You can also see what the other designers came up with.  All you have to do is click on the sketch image.
As I said my card is a sneak peek of one of the new host sets that will be in the new Stampin' Up! Catalog.  This is a fun set that allows you to use any color media you would like.
I used my Stampin' Write markers to color the flowers on the die cut.  I used Poppy Parade, Coastal Cabana, Lemon Lime Twist.  The mystery color I threw in was Mango Melody.  The colored strip of card stock going up the right hand side of the card was repeatedly stamped in the alternating colors that were used.  Then I trimmed it down and added it to the embossed panel.  Which by the way was embossed with the Country Floral 3D embossing folder.
This will be a fun host set to pay with and I can not wait to share with you a few more cards using it.  I hope that you have enjoyed my card today and that you will take time to play along.  Thanks for dropping by.
