Back on Your Feet

Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am going to share a card that has gone in the mail to a friend.  She's not doing well and I thought it would be a good time to send her a little pick me up.  So I used the Back on Your Feet Stamp Set to create a fun little card that is sure to put a smile on her and your face.  I think that this stamp set is on that is just so funny with the puny images and great little sayings.  Here's a look at my card.

Tips & Tricks:

O started off my card by picking the image I wanted to use which by the way wasn't very hard.  I have loved this little guy since I saw him in the catalog back last April.  So, yes it took me this long to add him to my order.  Once I knew which fun little guy I was going to use for my card it was time to get to work.  I stamped the turtle in Tuxedo Black ink onto a piece of Whisper White Cardstock.   I then colored him using my Stampin' Blends.  I used the combo packs of Mossy Meadow, and So Saffron and my Dark Soft Suede.  I colored the turtle (actually I think he's a Tortoise)  I started with the shell.  I colored the outside of the shell with Mossy Meadow dark and then die the bumps of the shell with combination of the light and dark.  Images like this are actually easy to color if you follow the shadow lines the artist put in.  I then colored bottom of the shell with So Saffron light and dark following the same rule.  I colored his skin mainly with the light mossy meadow and added in just a little dark for the shadows but not much at all.  I added a little ground for him to be on with my Soft Suede dark blend.

I then punched him out with my 2" Circle Punch.  I layered that on to a 2 1/4" So Saffron Circle.  I took a piece of Pear Pizzazz Cardstock and used the Hammered Metal 3D Embossing folder to add texture that was similar of the Turtle.  I added this layer to a So Saffron mat cut at 4 x 5 1/4.  This was then added to my card base which was made from a 4 1/4 x 11 piece of Mossy Meadow Cardstock.

Once I had all the layers put together I needed a place for my little turtle to sit, and a place for a sentiment.  So i used a one inch scrap of Pear Pizzazz Cardstock and stamped the sentiment in Mossy Meadow Classic Ink.  I added this to the card front with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  To finish him off I added the turtle on the card with a couple Stampin' Dimensionals.

Timeless Tropical - Stampin' Up! - Retirement Card

Hello and welcome to my blog; today I am going to share with you the card that I shared during my Facebook Live on Wednesday night.  I used the Timeless Tropical Stamp Set to create a easy layered card for someone that is retiring.  I personally think the Timeless Tropical Stamp Set is perfect for any occasion but that's just me.  Here's a look at the card that I did.

I love that you can do this card with all the layering and it just looks fabulous but is so super easy.  I love cards like this when they look complicated but are easy as pie.  Another thing that I love is that you can do the same design but by changing up the colors and images you get a completely different look to the card.  Someone suggested during my Facebook live that pink would be pretty.  And, it so would.

When I first designed this card I created the one you see above using the large floral image from the Timeless Tropical Stamp Set.  I paired the large flower with Early Espresso a color that is used in a lot of masculine themed cards.  I personally think it's a wonderful color for anytime.  I love it's rich bold tone and earthy rawness.   Which is why I also think it plays nicely with the large hibiscus.  So for the card that I did during the live I wanted to change things up just a little so I decided to change up the stamped image and the color.

So I decided to use pool Party and the large leaf image from the stamp set to change things up a little and to share how versatile the stamp set really is.  I can not decided which card I like the best; which is your favorite?  I really love the mix fonts in this stamp set.  If you want me to by a stamp set have flowers and mix fonts in it and it's as good as sold.

I was not worried about the images not lining up all the way.  I wasn't actually going for that but some of them did and that's okay too.  But, I didn't do the style stamping where I wanted the stamped images on each layer to look as if they were all lined up perfectly.  I was fine with them being off just a tad.  Most probably didn't even notice that until I pointed it out.

Remember that the Timeless Tropical bundle is on the retiring list even through the stamp set and the dies are carrying over the bundle price will not be available.   So, if you would like to save that additional 10% off the bundle I would go ahead and get it.  I have created a PDF Tutorial for you to download with all the supplies, instructions, and measurements for you for this card.  And I even did the measurements for my A4 metric friends as well.  You can download the Free PDF by Clicking here.

Thanks for dropping by today I hope that you enjoyed this little tropical card and if you need any of the supplies that you have seen used today you can order them in my online store 24/7 by clicking on the item in the shopping list below.

2020 - 2021 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog Pre-order

Hello crafty friends I just shared my 2020 2021 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog Pre-Order Unboxing video on my YouTube Channel.  You will want to check out all the great stuff I got to order on Tuesday.  Yes, I did have it over night so don't judge me!  I had to share it with all my crafty friends.  Here's a look at the things that cam in my preorder.

This is one of the perks of being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator!  We get to order products a full month before it goes live to everyone else and we get to be a happy shopper with a discount.  If you would like to get these products at a discount now is the perfect time to do so.  You can select some of these items in your starter kit.  You can click the join tab above and join my team of Kinsmon Crafters.
As you can see above I had a nice full box.  Some of the items I ordered where for a class so not everything I got that day was part of the Pre-order.  Let's look at the new 2020-2022 In Colors for a minute.  I am liking them so far.  You have (from left to right) Misty Moonlight, Cinnamon Cider, Magenta Madness, Bumblebee, and Just Jade.  These are going to be so much fun to play with.

Here's a look at three of the stamp sets that I got.  I picked out a couple of my favorites.  Now, I said favorites I didn't take a picture of my all time favorite set just yet anyway.

Here's a look at the designer series paper I ordered.  So far I am loving them more than I did on the flyer.  The picture doesn't do them justice.

This is the face I made once I opened my box and had a look at all the fun goodness.
You can make this face too!

Happy stampin I hope that you all have a wonderful weekend.  See you tomorrow for another post.  Stay safe!
