Smile - Daisy Lane Stamp Set

Hello and welcome to my blog; today I have a cute card for you using a stamp set that you may already have in your stash.  I used the Daisy Delight Stamp Set from the 2019 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog to Create today's card.   The Daisy Lane Stamp Set is a fun card to use for Springtime.  Well let's be honest it's a set that could be used for most anytime.  But, since the sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and I am feeling pretty good today.  So good that I got up this morning and took out all the containers, lids, all the lids that I've been digging through for the last year or so that I can never find what goes with what; and took them all out of the cabinet and played the matching game this morning.  All the lids and containers that didn't have lids all are going to the trash.  So anyway I actually created this card during the inbetween season of Summer and Fall but, never got around to sharing with you all.  Here's a look at the card.

Tips & Tricks:

Show your friends how much you love and support them with a stunning daisy card made using the Daisy Lane Stamp Set.  I started off my card by taking some scrap pieces of So Saffron Cardstock to do my stamping on.  You want to make sure that the scraps you have are big enough to get four of the large daisies from the stamp set and two of the small.  So you can do this in any way that you want as long as they are big enough to put in the punches and punch them out.  I then stamped each daisy in So Saffron Classic Ink.

After stamping the daisies onto my cardstock I took the Light & Dark So Saffron Stampin' Blends and colored each petal.  Starting from the center of the petals I added the dark blend first and then came back and blended them out.  I added just a little of the color lifter at the lightest areas so that the ink would blend into the cardstock.   This allows for a more dimensional look to each flower with more tones and values then just stamping the daisy and punching it out.  Once all the coloring was complete.  I then came back on the top of one of the daisies and colored in the centers with my Light and Dark Soft Suede Stampin' Blends.  For the centers and to keep with the texture of the centers I used the thumping technique.  Basically I took the tip of my blend and I made small thumps or dots with the tip to create the texture.  I followed the shading of the stamped image to know where the darker areas should be and decreased as I got to the lighter areas.  I went back in with a white gel pen and added just a few white highlights in the centers.

After all the coloring was complete I used the two matching punches and punched out all the daisy pieces.  I added them together with mini glue dots.  I made sure to place the colored centers on top of each of the daisies.  Next I stamped the fern from the stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on the card base.  I stamped two ferns at the top and one at the bottom to make a triangular arrangement on my card.  After the black ink dried I added the three daisies with a Stampin' Dimensional underneath each.  I then stamped the Smile Sentiment in tuxedo black ink.  To finish off my card I added a few copper sequins I had from a Paper Pumpkin Kit.
