Freezin' Fun Stampin' Up! - Rick's 15 Days of Christmas Day 3

Hello and welcome to my blog! Today is Thanksgiving Day here in the United States! So, my Ham & Turkey are in the oven cooking as I sit down to write today's post; let me take a moment to Wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving!

Day 3 of my 15 Days of Christmas Special and Facebook Lives!

Now to the my Day 3 post of my 15 Days of Christmas Promotion.  Where I am sharing the joy of a Crafty Handmade Holiday with you.  Each day I have a new project, Live Video, and a new ordering special each day.  Today, I am showcasing the Freezin' Fun Bundle with you today.  This is another bundle that when I saw it in the August-December Mini Catalog I just had to have it.  These little guys are just so stinking cute!!
Like I mentioned above this is my 3rd day of my 15 Days of Christmas, and my card today features the Freezin' Fun Stamp Set and a little Stampin' Blends Coloring.  I kept the coloring to this card simple as I have mentioned before I think that when you are sharing a #CraftyHandmadeChristmas and any  Christmas Card it needs to be easy, fast, and fun to reproduce.  And, this card meets all three.

Day 3 of my 15 Days of Christmas Special and Facebook Lives!

I stamped the two images from the Freezin' Fun Stamp Set in Shaded Spruce Ink in the top right and bottom left corners.  Yes, you read that correctly I stamped them in Shaded Spruce Ink.  You can stamp in one of Stampin' Up!'s dye based ink pads and then turn around and color them using your Stampin' Blends and it will be okay.  Because, it's a dye based ink:  The rule is that with alcohol markers you want to stamp in a water based dye ink for best results.  You can not use Stazon because it's a solvent based ink like Alcohol is a solvent.  So, you used the opposite ink for each.  For example if I wanted to use my watercolors to color this image I would need a waterproof ink like the Stazon.  I just used five sets of blends for the coloring; Shaded Spruce, Cherry Cobbler, Smoky Slate, Gray Granite and a little Flirty Flamingo to do my coloring.

Day 3 of my 15 Days of Christmas Special and Facebook Lives!

Once I had the images colored I attached it to a Shaded Spruce mat layer to match my stamping and card base.  I added a little of the Classic Christmas Designer Series Paper (which is only available for a limited time).  Before adding the colored and matted layer to my card front I added a little bit of a Square Vellum Doily behind for a little added interest, and before popping it up on the card front with a few Stampin' Dimensionals.
